Maya Hart has always been that rebel, the bad girl, a wild sprit. Everyone guessed Maya needed saving sometimes, and everyone guessed it would be Riley Matthews, Maya's best friend. So why did it take Lucas five times to save Maya to make her realize that Lucas was the one?

Let's just say Maya has a hero.
.  .  .
One
Maya Hart was at the club with, Riley Matthews, her best friend. Riley didn't want to go, but her being the caring best friend she is, knew Maya would party all night. That's how Maya was, she lives life like there's no tomorrow. The dancing blonde went to the bar to get a drink.

She immediately asked the bartender for some shots. Five shots to be exact. Riley Matthews strolled in, standing next to Maya concerned. "Um, Maya, don't you think that's too much." The brunette chuckled uneasily. "Relax sunshine, I won't take too much. Try to loose yourself sometimes." Maya handed her innocence best friend a shot.

Riley sighed, before taking the shot and drinking it in one gulp. Riley cringed at the bitter taste. "Um, I think I'm gonna go to the bathroom to throw this up now. Be safe, please." Riley looked at her best friend with a serious face. "Yeah, yeah, I'll be safe I promise. Now go, throw up." The brunette sent a small smile before going to the bathroom. Maya was now by herself, she drank only two shots.

Maya and Riley always kept there promises, that's how there relationship was. Meanwhile, danger came when a boy went walking towards Maya, lust in his eyes. "Hey pretty lady." The mysterious guy tried to put his hand on Maya's thigh, but Maya pushed him away. "I have a boyfriend." Maya hoped that trick would work in this guy. "I've been watching you, and I don't like liars."

This time the guy grabbed the blondes wrist harshly and dragged her outside. Maya tried to fight back but it was no use, no one could help her. The intoxicated man pinned Maya to the wall beside the club, and started to harshly kiss her neck. Maya shut her eyes, wishing this nightmare would be over soon.

A certain cowboy was walking on the sidewalk, across from the club. Lucas walked toward the club, since that sidewalk led to his house. Lucas walked by the club thinking nothing was wrong, until he heard crying. Crying that sounded like someone needed to be saved. He followed the crying to see Maya Hart, the guy forcing himself on her. Lucas immediately went to the guy and pushed her off.

Maya opened her eyes, seeing Ranger Rick fighting off her villain. The villain ran away, leaving Lucas and Maya there. Maya immediately ran into Lucas's arms, letting her tears fall out. Maya and Lucas never thought they'd be in this position. Lucas hugged Maya back, whispering sweet nothing's in her ear.

"Your okay."

And Maya believed that.

Two
Maya Hart was walking on the sidewalk, enjoying the fresh air. It has been one week since Lucas saved her, in one week there relationship isn't about bickering and bantering. Everyone was shocked to see them talking and Lucas protecting her like she was her trophy. Maya walked onto the road, not noticing the grey Honda.

Meanwhile, Lucas was walking on the same sidewalk that Maya had walked on. Lucas kept walking to see the grey Honda coming in Maya's way. Lucas was quick to react as he pushed himself and Maya out of the way. They landed on the sidewalk with a thud. Maya looked at her hero trying to catch her breath. "Thanks Ranger Rick."

"Don't thank me, all it matters that your okay."

And Maya believed that.

Three
It was three days after Lucas saving Maya, again. Maya was walking down the halls, minding her own business. She made it to her locker, putting the heavy books inside it. Maya closed her locker to be accompanied by Missy Bradford and her "popular group". "Well look who it is, Ms. Broken." Missy let out a bitter laugh.

"I wouldn't say that Ms. Slut." Maya wasn't one to let anyone insult her and get away from it. That's part of the reason why she always defended Riley, that's how much Maya cares about her best friend. "Whatever, did your daddy come back or is he still fucking more whores who were better than your little family."

Maya didn't know what to say. Practically everyone knew about her family life, and everyone knew not to mess with it, but it seems like Missy didn't listen. "At least she's a better person than you'll ever be." Maya followed that voice to see Lucas, standing there with his arms crossed defending her. Missy scoffed, angry that Lucas defended Maya. "At least I have the looks and money, while she looks like she's been from the garbage and her clothes are from GoodWill."

"You know Missy I wonder why your such a terrible person. Maybe because you aborted that baby." Lucas screamed the last part, making everyone look their way. Whispered were around the hallway while Missy's face was red as a fire truck. Lucas made that rumor up, but it was to save Maya from humiliation. "Fuck you." Missy walked away, being humiliated.

"Thanks cowboy." Maya turned to look at Lucas, with a smile on her face.

"I'm just glad your okay."

And Maya believed that.

Four
It was exactly Saturday, one day after the Missy incident. Lucas and Maya relationship grew stronger than ever. The blonde was walking towards the park, where she was going to meet Lucas. While Maya was walking a white van was driving behind her. Maya looked behind her and knew she had to run. She read the stories and saw the movies, so she ran, ran for her life.

The driver knew what she was doing so he chased after her. Maya was growing weaker and weaker, but she saw the park and she wasn't going to give up. The driver grabbed her waist and out a hand over her mouth. Maya let out muffled cries, hoping someone would hear her cries.

And someone did, Lucas looked behind him to see the scene. Lucas ran to the driver and knocked him out, while he hugged Maya close.

"Your okay."

And Maya believed that.
. . .
Five
It's been one month since the death of Katy Hart. Maya took it hard, which caused her in depression. The broken blonde was standing in the bathroom looking at herself in the mirror. There was a gun and sleeping pills on the counter. Maya contemplated which one to kill herself with. Maya didn't want to admit it but she was in love with Lucas. Just one problem, he was with Riley.

With two of these problem combined Maya decided to just kill herself. Maya took the gun with her shaky hands, closing her eyes and putting the gun to her temple. Lucas was walking down Maya's neighborhood after a fight with Riley. Lucas doesn't want to be with Riley, he wants to be with Maya. The cowboy stopped at Maya's house wondering why the door was open.

Lucas walked in worried, he suddenly heard cries in the bathroom. Lucas being Lucas busted the door open, where he saw Maya almost clicking the trigger. "Maya!" He immediately took the gun from her hands, but Maya put up a fight. "Lucas let go!" They both raised the gun in the air, both of them looking into their eyes. "Maya why would you do this! Your better than this!" The cowboy yelled at the broken blonde.

"Because I deserve this! I deserve what I'm doing to myself! I deserve the scars on my wrists! I deserve the karma God gave me! I deserve not being able to love you! I deserve everything!"

"Well you don't! I care, I care, I always cared! You don't deserve the scars on your wrists, your too beautiful! You don't deserve the karma! You don't deserve of not getting love! Because Maya Hart I love you!"

The both of them were done with their screaming fight, instead their faces were filled with tears. Maya dropped the gun smashing her lips in Lucas's. Lucas returned the gesture, putting love and passion as much as he could. They both pulled away breathless, pulling each other into their arms.

"Your okay, I promise as long as I'm here."

"I believe that."

And Maya did.
