Natalia Anders wakes up to her alarm at 5:30 am screaming at her. She slams the alarm and sits up rubbing her eyes to see her older sister in her bed next to her.
Natalia gets out of bed and walks over shaking her sister. "Naomi....Naoms" Her deep raspy voice shakes a bit as she talks. "NAOMI!" She finally yells. Her 15 year old sister awakes. "Whaaaaaaat" Her voice whines. "School" Natalia says. ''And hurry your ass up slow poke its my first day of high school don't wanna be late!" The 14 year old says to her older sister.
They both get ready and make breakfast.
"Ok my lovies I have to go to work" Danielle tells her daughters. Danielle kisses her oldest on her head as she eats her cereal. "Whats wrong?" Danielle asks her youngest Natalia. "Nothing....just hate school" Natalia says waiting for her poptart to toast. "I know just think your almost done just a couple more years!" Danielle smiles. "Text me through the day both of you if you can" Danielle says as she hugs her daughter. "love you girls! Oh and wake your dad before you leave!" Danielle says walking out. "Okay! Love you to" The girls say in unison.
"Can you get dad?" Naomi asks. "Isn't it your turn?" Natalia asks. "No remember mom had to leave early and I had to go to the store real quick" Naomi says looking up from her phone at her sister nibbling on her poptart. She lets out a sigh. "but.....hes so grumpyyyyy" Natalia whines causing her sister to roll her eyes. "be even more grumpier if you don't wake him uppppp" she returns to her phones as her sister trudges the stairs to her parents bedroom.
"DAD....dad.....DAD.....DAD...." she repeats shaking her father. ''What do you need tals?" He asks. "I need you to get up and go to work so you can make some money so your family has a roof to live under and some food to eat.....and maybe wifi to keep your daughters alive?" She ends with a chuckle causing her father to chuckle. "Ugh your a smart ass you know that?" He asks sitting up. "I am your kid....I hope" She says. "Go to school would ya kid?'' He says getting up. ''Yes father. I love you father." she says. "HEY THANKS FOR NOT BEING A GRUMPY PANTS" she adds running down the stairs.
She opens the door to her sister Naomi getting on the bus. ''LETS GO!" she yells. "Bossy pants she is" I laugh to her bus driver. "Always has been" The bus driver chuckles knowing the girls since they were little.
They get to school. Before Naomi walks away her sister grabs her arm. ''What I gotta go'' She says to her sister. "Something doesn't feel right like something bad will happen" Natalia says fiddling her her hands. "listen your just nervous about school ok? text me if you need me'' Naomi says and Natalia nods as her sister walks away disappearing into the crowds of students.
The day goes normal and same old same old like any other first day of school. The introductions, introducing yourself, etc. All of the sudden the principal walks in Natalias math class. He says something to the math teacher. "Natalia?" her voice speaks and Natalia looks up. "Yes?" she asks. "Can you come with me" The principal asks. Natalia nods grabbing my books and walking out earning stares, mumbles, and whispers from the class.
"Am I in trouble cause I've been here one day" Natalia chuckles a bit and he chuckles. "Ah no just we have something to tell you and your sister" he says. "Oh ok...." The rest of the walk is silent but all Natalia could wonder is what they're going to say.
Natalia walks in a couple people in the office and Naomi with red stained eyes showing she's cried. "Whats wrong?" I ask. "Please sit Natalia" The principal says. "No whats wrong? why is my sister crying? is everyone ok?" Natalia Is cut off by Naomi. "Mom got in a car accident...head on collision with a truck.." Naomi says. "Ok shes injured and we have to take care of her we have had to do this before so" Natalia says as everyone looks down and at each other. "N-" Naomi cuts the principal off. "Can I?" Naomi asks and he nods. She stands up and looks at her sister wiping her tears. "Tals....she didn't make it this time" Her voice cracks and their dad walks in. Naomi walks over hugging him tightly crying.
Natalia stands there shocked. No tears....just shock.
