Taehyung was preparing for the night. He was in his throne room, looking at the artifacts on the walls, reminiscing. The five wives were in the room with him, all of them dressed in their finest clothes. They were all seated in their usual places around the king's throne, waiting for his command. "Tonight..." he said, his voice deep and cold. "Tonight, it is time."

The moon hung low over the Obsidian Spire, its silver light swallowed by the writhing mist that coiled around the Castle like living chains. Inside, torches flickered-too bright, too frantic-as if trying to outrun a shadow.

Taehyung stood at the edge of his balcony, five figures behind him: queens draped in starlight silks and whispering thrones. Their jewels caught no firelight-they only glowed faintly... like dying embers remembering heat.

One stepped forward-a silver mask veiling her face-and spoke not in words but scales:
"Tonight we will return."

A beat of silence...Then- a crack across reality..And From below came no footsteps... only the sound of something climbing up invisible stairs..And somewhere deep beneath stone and memory?...Something was waking.

Taehyung looked at the figures behind him. His eyes rested on the masked queen for a moment, then traveled over the others. He knew of the things stirring below the ground. The sounds that echoed through the stone, too deep for mortal ears to hear but powerful enough that magic could feel it.

"Yes," he said, his voice a low rumble that seemed to come from the stones beneath them. "Tonight you return."

The other wives turned their eyes to him, their faces hidden behind silks and veils. Their masks of stars and smoke did nothing to disguise their emotions. The air was heavy with anticipation. Only the first queen, the one who had spoken, remained expressionless. She knew what was coming-more than any of them.

Taehyung looked at each wife in turn, his gaze lingering the longest on the one who stood with her face concealed. She did not move, did not speak. It was as if she were a statue carved from the shadows themselves. Finally, he turned back to stare out into the night. For a moment, he said nothing.

"When I first brought you here," he said now, his voice barely more than a murmur, "You were just five mortals. Beautiful, yes, and young and full of life. But still mortal."
