"hurry now Joseph come on Joseph get behind your brother good now pose for the picture,"Flash.
The memory rung in Josephs ear like a bell. Clutching the photo so tensely almost ruining it. Joseph shook it off. Continued getting dressed. Tighting the bow around his neck and braces at his trousers.
"Joseph? Joseph dear you almost ready?" Mama called.
"Yes mother,"
"Oh oh my," she looked at him with pride "dear me your a handsome boy."
Joseph chuckled
"I'm so glad you stayed with me If I-I, "
"Mamma don't cry it's only for a month."
"Yes, yes I know," wobbling over to give him a slobbery kiss "now your not there for girls or to relax your there for business only,"
Smiling Joseph returned the favor "yes mother but you remember your medicines!"
"Oh those awful things ain't gonna change anything, now get going son!" He cheekily made a face at her, grabbing his leather suit case and striding out of the apartment down the hall."Joseph is that you!" Joseph sighed thinking he could escape the land lord. He didn't even get half way down the hallway this time. He turned to the short old man with glossy white hair a red tie was always around what used to be a neck was just fat bulging over with bits of food down the front of his blouse and bristle beard.
"Ye' think ecapin' from me is easy now? Pay up," He finished shortly " or I'm kicken' you and your rancid mother OUT!" He spat. Joseph handed him the pocket money his mother had gifted to him for the trip.
He snatched it out of Josephs hands. Waddled back towards his office.
Joseph stepped out of the 3 story building on a way to start a new life. Taking a gulp out of the cities dirty air he headed towards the docks.
