Wonder is that rare feeling, the one that you may have forgotten about, the one that you may have lost over the years.
It's the emotion that kids experience often and adults experience rarely. It's the emotion that fades away over time and drifts off into space, along with your innocence.
It straddles the boundary between happy and sad, filling your being with small bursts of color and light. It occupies your mind and won't leave until its desires have been satisfied.
It gets you thinking, covering you with a blanket, preventing you from seeing anything apart from it, pleading with you to answer to its calls.
And answer its calls you must. For, if you do not, you will forever have it lingering in your mind, stalking your life, following you everywhere.
Wonder is not a feeble feeling. It's not as powerful as hate, or regret.
But it is very powerful indeed.
And I cower under its power.
Yes, I rhymed. Again.
But for some reason, I feel different now. I've been feeling different ever since that day.
