I woke up to the phone ringing. It was three in the morning. Who the heck calls at a time like this?! I was half asleep when I answered the phone. "Hello?"
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY KATIE!!!" my best friend, Susie screamed into the phone. One thing you should know about her, she is extremely hyperactive and the world is her playground. No one knows how she was selected into the FBI.
"Oh my gosh are you out of your mind?! It's three in the morning!" I replied.
"I'm the first one to wish you, aren't I?"she said. " I love being the first!"
Well that clears it up. She wanted to be the first in our training too.
"Yes you are the first. Thank you. Now can I go back to sleep?!"I moaned.
"Okay fine go back to sleep. Just remember we have that big meeting today. And boy, are you busted?!"
"Yes I remember. Thank you for making this birthday even more special."I added sarcastically.
"Oh haha real funny, Kate. Just sleep. Sweet dreams!"
I put the phone down and groggily went back to bed. Sigh, another year gone by. I haven't really done anything useful so far. I'm not exceptionally beautiful or smart. So far, the only thing that has got me going is my hard work and my promise to my parents. The best thing that happened to me was getting into the FBI. But even here, I'm stuck as a secretary for a feild officer. Which means that I only do the paperwork. Which makes me sick. But this will take me to my real goal. So I keep at it. Without complaining, I do my job and slog, hoping that one day my chance will come to show the world who I am and what I can do. But what I did do, no one would ever believe.
