Many years ago, she received a letter.

Many years ago, she had been dating a young man that she simply loved with all of her heart.

Many years ago, she had no idea of his past.

Many years ago, she knew very well that one day she would be called upon to join the cause that her parents and brother had died for.

Many years ago, when she was left an orphan, she was angry enough at this cause to never look at it again.

Many years ago, she thought about taking the letter and shredding it, so she would never see the dreadful place that tore her world apart.

But she met him.

She loved him.

Everything was okay again.

Why not take a look?

Marielle,

You know about us, and we know about you. You were raised to hate and so were we. We're like you. Come join us. We can teach you how to fight against what your family died for.

If you don't respond to this is thirty days, we will hunt you down and kill you. If you respond with a "no", we will hunt you down, torture you, and give you something so you forget everything. Only after all of that will we kill you.

Either way you end up dead.

Nothing personal.

Nothing personal? Who says that after a death threat? Obviously it's everything personal.

We just need to be sure that you're not with the Other Side, because then you would be able to simply hand our secrets away, and we can't have that.

Chose to reply to this, and we'll take you over safely. Chose to reply and you can live, live a life you never would have thought possible. Unless you say no. Then...well, we've already gone over that with you.

Do not send your reply through the mail. All you have to do it fold it into a paper airplane and throw it.

It will find us.

May we not see you on hateful terms,

The Trackers

Marielle spent a long time thinking over this letter, and on the twenty ninth day, she did as she had been told to do, her mind made up.

She felt pretty stupid, folding her reply into a paper airplane and throwing it into the wind. Especially because she lived in a city, and it sure wouldn't get far.

But she did it nonetheless, and to her surprise, it weaved between the buildings and disappeared from sight.

She watched it go, and was very calm, until something cold was pressed against the back of her neck.

She sucked in a breath as her blood ran cold.

"Great throw," said a quiet, familiar voice. "Now tell me where you were sending it."

A/N: Wait! Let me guess! You guys aren't remotely satisfied with this chapter!!!

I guessed it?

Correctly?

Well, would you look at that!

I'm being extremely sarcastic right now, if you weren't aware.

I know this chapter probably made no sense to you guys, but if it did, comment please!

It really won't make a difference in my opinion of you, I promise.

This chapter was essential. If you've figured out why, I'm begging you to PM me or leave a comment or put something on my message board because I want to know if any of you are clever weirdos who can tell the future!

If you are to do one of these things, answer these questions in the process.

1. Who is Marielle?
2. Who is holding whatever is pressed to the back of her neck?

Simple questions!

Looking back at this, I see that they're actually rather obvious...at least to me...the writer...

I don't really know why I'm rambling.

Let's get to the important stuff!

You realized this chapter was short, as I probably could have gone back to Sparrow's point of view, because those of you who were dying to know what happened are probably dying to shoot me with one of the Tracker's arrows, which I would probably be dying to do as well.

Sadly, I could not do that. This chapter was just too important and I wanted you guys to focus on that.

Most of it will make sense in the end, when everything is explained, and if it doesn't...

Erm...

I'll give you some ice cream.

Anyway thank you all for reading this, and I promise next time the chapter will be my usual winging it and hoping that people enjoy it!

Wait, what?

I plan this stuff!!!

Pfft...

Aaaaaanywaaaay...

Love you guys!
