"You guys ready to go to your new home?" Marshall, the guy who turned us into vampires, asked us.
"Yeah, we are," my mom nodded, dabbing a tissue to leave no tear marks on her face.
I scoffed, rolling my eyes and walking away from my mom.
Marshall raised his eyebrows at me, "What?"
"They might be ready to leave, but I'm not. What if I don't want to go?"
"Then," he said, "it sucks to be you. Speaking of brats, where is your brother?"
As if on cue, Alex came stumbling in, a beer in his left hand. He couldn't walk straight; he kept walking in zig-zags.
"Alex?" I breathed out.
"I-I finally got drunk. I did it, Medley," he said proudly, as if he finally accomplished something.
I looked at Marshall and we looked at Alex closely. I would've thought he would be mad, but he looked rather amused, as if this was amusing.
"Alex," my mom gasped behind me.
"Let's go," I said, turning away from everybody and going towards the car. "Take my family to the new house."
"What about you?" my dad asked me.
"What about me," I replied, raising my eyebrows.
"Where are you going is what I mean," he said, giving me a warning tone.
"I'm going to the headquarters." I said, turning my head slightly so I wasn't looking directly on them.
My dad shook his head, "No way, not happening."
"Medley," My mom said, "Just come with us, please."
"No, and that's my final answer. Go, I'll be there, I promise."

"I want what Alex has," I say as I entered the headquarters.
People were looking at me, gasping even. I looked down at my outfit and saw my knees; my dress was short; God forbid me wearing something comfortable.
Marshall chuckled, "Of course you do. Right this way, please."
He led me through so many halls, making so many turns. The farther we were form the entrance, there were less people roaming the hallways, making it almost, almost peaceful.
Just as we turned the corner, I made a sudden stop.
At first, I covered my mouth with my hand, but it got stronger and I couldn't resist it. I dropped my hand and smelled the air.
Blood.
"Medley," Marshall shouted my name. "Behave."
I turned my head to the right a little; the wall was a mirror, the whole hallway in fact, and I could see my reflection. My fangs were showing and my irises were red, not brown.
I gasped a little and closed my eyes. This isn't me, this can't be me. I am not a monster.
"Breathe," I whispered to myself. "Just breathe. You can do this. Just hold your breath."
I followed Marshall and soon we were in a room that was the size of three base ball stadiums. Or so I thought. The size of the place was bigger than huge, bigger than giant, bigger than the whole state of New York probably.
"W-what is that?" I asked Marshall, pointing a thing with words and images.
Marshall chuckled, "That's a computer. And that over," he pointed, "there is a touch screen computer."
"Computer?" the word sounded foreign on my tongue.
Marshall nodded, as if this was all normal. But how? This was anything but normal. This could be alien technology or something and Marshall was just nodding. He introduced me to a new world, how can he not be so fascinated?
"How come I've never heard of one, or even seen one?"
"We keep many secrets, Medley," he clasped his hands together. "So, lets get to the point. You want us to reveal your vampire abilities."
I nodded, "But Alex said he got to pick."
"But he isn't the leader of your coven, now is he?" he smirked.
"Oh, since I'm the leader I have all these specialties. Is there training involved to help me actually use them?"
Marshall gave me a look, "Training? Why would you need training?"
"Well, someone should help me with abilities." I said.
"Like who, hmm?" he raised his eyebrows. "Another vampire? Medley, we can give the ability of flying and you have no limitations. Super-speed, mind reading, teleporting, anything. It is all yours."
"But it doesn't feel right," I sigh. "I get all the abilities but my parents, my brother, my family, they have to pick."
I looked around, everybody was minding their own business. They all have an important task. If I were them, I would rub it in everybody's faces that I'm just as important as them.
But I can't; they are human and I'm anything but human. Its because of them that I am what I am. I'm this super natural creature that defies mostly all the laws of science.
"Looks like you don't have a choice, Medley." Marshall put his hand on my shoulder.
"You do know that once you give me abilities, I will be the strongest person."
"I'm scared," Marshall says with sarcasm. "I have ways Medley. You can't hurt me."
"Not right now, but once I have abilities, I can kill you, I can hurt you, I can cause you damage." I say, trying to hold my ground.
He walked to a table and takes a knife. Before I can adjust what his next action is going to be, he slices his hand. The blood drips to the floor, making a small pool within a couple of seconds. He doesn't looked pain, but how would I know?
I can see the blood, I can hear it dripping, but I can't smell it. I'm not craving his blood, I don't want to drink his blood.
"Why?" I breathed out.
"There are rules, very, very confusing legendary rules.
"Like what? Am I not allowed to kill past eight o'clock?"
"You wouldn't understand," he sighed, shaking his head.
"I am the leader of this coven; I have the right to know why I don't want to kill you, why I don't want to drink you blood!"
He sighed, "You are not allowed to hurt family members. So, therefore, you can't hurt me."
