Dr. Roosevelt sat in the autopsy room, looking at what lay dead on his gurney. A hairy-as-a-monkey man lay there naked, with his throat slit. He looked at the Hispanic man and wondered why he had used his knife to draw an X on the man's abdomen earlier, he wasn't quite sure of the motif behind his signature mark, but he was a little convinced he would do it again - if the need arose. He looked at all his tools for tearing up the man, and felt a little lazy to search for something he knew the answer to already. He looked at the man, twenty- three hours ago, he was in the disheveled apartment, waiting for Rodriquez to return home. His knife firmly clutched between the leather gloves he wore, he didn't fret nor mumble, he did it like a professional.
Rodriquez had just entered his apartment, shut the door too properly, and turned the lights on, when he saw Dr. Roosevelt sitting on a wooden chair and pointing a silencer pistol at him. his knife in the other hand.
"I take it you did not receive my email" Said Dr. Roosevelt. He sat at a corner in the house, his face unmasked.
"Good Lord, who the hell are you? How did you get in here" shouted Rodriquez, his hands up and shaky in the ominous air. "What do you want from me man?"
"I take it you did not receive my email" Repeated Dr. Roosevelt.
"Are you death? I received an email from some strange fellow named death"
"Oh, so I see you got my email" Dr. Roosevelt said as he removed the gun from safety.
"Please! Please! I'll give you whatever you want, take it all, please take it all, please don't kill me man, please" cried Rodriquez.
"Shhhhh" - Dr. Roosevelt put his index finger across his lips - "you don't want to wake the neighbors"
"Please, I'll give you whatever you want, I have a pile of coke under my bed - it cost over ten grand, I have thirty thousand..." Rodriquez whispered, so as not to agitate his assailant for shouting too much.
"Shhhhh, I'm going to make this easy for you. Go over there, and have a drink" interrupted Dr. Roosevelt, he gestured to a chair that had a glass of red wine on a stool beside it.
"What the fuck man? What have you put in there? You want me to kill myself or what?" Said Rodriquez.
Dr. Roosevelt did not answer him, he just wavered his silencer to reassure Rodriquez that he was still the man with the gun, that he was still death. Rodriquez sat on the chair, shaky, his hands almost knocked the glass of wine down when he tried to carry it. He took it up with both hands and held it close to his mouth, scared to drink.
"Drink, Drink my friend" Dr. Roosevelt said.
Rodriquez closed his eyes, and begun sending the red wine down his throat, his hands still shaky, most of the wine poured unto his shirt. But Dr. Roosevelt did not protest, he knew Rodriquez did not have to drink too much before the tranquilizer begun knocking him out.
"I don't want you to kill yourself my friend, I'm going to kill you, you'll be a little unconscious but you'll feel every inch my knife, as it shatters you pharynx.
"What the fuck man? What did I do to you, I don't know who the hell you are man? Please just let me go, what the hell is a pharynx? Where is my pharynx?" Said Rodriquez. The tranquilizer had not begun to sedate him yet.
"Marie sends her regards, she said she wanted to be a journalist" Said Dr. Roosevelt.
"how the hell do you know that bitch? That bitch stole my money God damn it, she stole from me"
"She stole a hundred dollar from you, and what did you do?"
Rodriquez started crying, he seemed sorry for what he had done, he seemed rueful, but now he was quite confident that death was about to kill him.
"I gave you a chance my friend, I begged you categorically in my email, I said kill yourself before I find you"
"No, you said use me before I find you"
"And who am I?"
"You are...you are"
"Who am I my dear friend"
"You're death"
"What?"
"Death"
"I can't hear you" Dr. Roosevelt said, in a singing manner that sounded evil.
"Death, I said death motherfucker"
"You ignored me, and here I am, I've come knocking on your door, right on your door my friend"
"Please man, I'm sorry, I'll never do it again"
"Of course you wouldn't, I'm sending you straight to hell"
"Who the hell are you? That bitch has no family here, I owned that bitch! Who the hell are you? How does it even concern you? You're a fucking American god damn it"
By now, Rodriquez had become a little drowsy, and his words came out slowly from his mouth. Who - the - hell - are - you - man?
"Emmmm... I thought you just told me, or you don't like death? I thought about The Avenger, but it's a little too cliché. But death is okay don't you think?"
"This - is - no - joke - man, this - is no...this - is - no - jjj "
Rodriquez passed out.
"Go ahead" said Marie. She had been standing there all the while, exclusively visible and audible to Dr. Roosevelt. Dr. Roosevelt moved to Rodriquez and slit his throat - slowly, Rodriquez vibrated vigorously but he couldn't shout, he just mumbled groans from his mouth. He clearly felt every inch of Dr. Roosevelt's knife, as it cut through the hair pores on his neck, and burst his voice box and let out his blood, pumping out like a burst pipe. He turned to look at Marie, but she wasn't there, she was gone. He was appalled at himself, he had just committed his first murder, and he felt no remorse. He did not wish it could all go away. He rather wished he could resurrect Rodriquez and kill him again. He cut twice on the right side of Rodriquez's abdomen, making an X symbol, and then he departed his first murder scene. Rodriquez's next door neighbor, Sherriff, had alerted the police when she saw blood flowing out the door of Rodriquez's apartment
