Have you ever felt strange, like a flaw in the system. Well that's my life. My name is Raelynn Grey, most of my friends call me Rae. By most of my friends I mean my one friend, Tatiana. In my world everyone has magic, some kind of magical talent that's unique them. Like Tatiana's talent is what ever she imagines can happen, of course she doesn't have limitless ability but a powerful talent none the less. Which brings us to me. I don't have a magical talent or any magic at all. I am the only one (that I know of) like that, it sucks.
"Hey Rae!" Tatiana said. "You zoned out again. You always do that in this class."
The truth is I do because this is the class where we are supposed to learn how to cope with our talents.
"It's not my fault that I don't have a talent, Tati!"
"Jesus, relax Rae. Hey do you want to spend the night at my house?"
"Sure! I'd love too!" Sometimes I feel like Tati's parents are nicer to me then my own. My parents say I was a mistake, that I couldn't possibly be their daughter.

After school I walked home with Tati
"Hey do you want to go down to the river?" I asked her.
"Sure, why not."
The river is my favorite place I love it there. No one really goes there and it's so peaceful. Me and Tati found it when we were nine, we are both fourteen at the moment. It was in the middle of a forest and if you walk far enough down it flows in to this sandbank near he beach. We set our stuff down at Tati's house and started walking down to the river.
