"Here's your sleeping bag and your book bag," Her mom shoved it all into her outstretched arms. "Now, do you have everything?" She asked sitting in the drivers seat with her hands on the wheel. "Um..yea-" "Good! See you later chica!" And with that she left. Her mom's car sped off down the road and finally disappeared once it turned the corner of Santiago Blvd.
Carmen was left blankly standing there with her arms full, and the feeling of abandonment for some reason. She lifted her hand up to lightly wave at the already gone sports car.
"...bye."
Carmen turned around and started walking towards the house passing a mailbox with party balloons tied to the top. She came to attend an all girls sleepover. Or at least that's what she was told.
The porch lights flickered on and off. There was a swinging patio bench on the end of the porch. She could hear muffled loud music playing from the inside of the house. She tried reaching for the doorbell with her right hand without letting the sleeping bag slip from her arm. Before she could even ring the doorbell, a girl opened the door. "Hey Carmen!"
"Whoa!" Carmen lost her balance and all of her stuff scattered all over the dirty porch. "Dang it!" she looked down at her feet that were now buried in clothes."Hey Bonnie," she sighed. Bonnie looked down at the clothes on the ground. "Oops, sorry, let me help you!" Bonnie bent over and began helping her gather her belongings. "Thanks," she said.
"Oh it's okay, come on in! Everyone's in the living room."
The girl entered first indicating for Carmen to follow behind her.
Carmen looked around. Green and purple laser lights were bouncing off the walls and the ceiling. The staircase was the first thing to see when one would enter the home.
On the right of the staircase was a dark hallway with picture frames hanging on the walls. On the left, which was where they were walking, was the hallway that led to the living room. As they entered the living room, it revealed a lot of crowded kids dancing or talking to each other while holding red plastic Solo cups that were filled with red punch. Probably spiked. Great. The only thing missing is the pizza guy.
*DING! DONG!*
Bonnie turned to face the front door. "Oh! I'll get it!" She walked towards the door to find the, okay wow, pizza guy. "How much do I owe you?" The pizza guy looked like a wimpy teenager with acne on his face. He was balancing 5 boxes of pepperoni cheese pizzas in his hands. "Uh..." He glanced at the reciept in her shirt pocket. "...t-t-twenty-eighty seven," he stutters. "Alright," Bonnie began to pull out her wallet from her purse.
"Here you go," she holds out a 20 dollar bill to him. He just stood there with his eyes still on her shirt pocket.
"Um, here's the money- take it!"
He finally snapped back into focus.
"Oh, uh...um, yeah thanks..." he said as he glanced at her annoyed expression. As he was about to walk off the porch, Bonnie stepped out the door. She pulled him back by the shoulder. "Hey, look," she said with a layed back attitude, "since I'm having this party and all, wanna hang with me and join us?"
He had a face of disbelief that she actually wanted to invite him.
"I-uh, um- I mean y'know, I got to get home or else- yeah, my parents would totally kill me...so," he could barely speak with the horny look Bonnie was giving him, as she played with her blue bra strap that was showing out of her tank top.
He blinked multiple times while rubbing his neck before he could finally utter the words,
"Uhm ahh-
alright what the hell."
