"Ronnie wake up!" My mom yelled from downstairs in the kitchen. I was so comfortable in my bed I did not want to get up. My mom comes in my room 20 minutes later to see if I'm up but she sees me still in bed, "Ronnie why aren't you up already, it's the last day of school." My mom says with a little anger in her voice. I turn over in my bed to face the door where she's standing and say,"Mom do I really have to go, it's the last day of school." Yes ,it's only one more day get up ,please" she says nicely so I could feel guilty and get up to go to school."Fine, I'll get up now then" I say to her, "Close my door please!"
Finally when she leaves I shrug out of my bed and grab my glasses next to my bedside and walk to the closet. After endless searching I found something decent to wear; this large black and white striped shirt with dark ripped pair of jeans and some white Converse. After that I race to the bathroom look at myself and I was like shit ughhh!I wash and dry my face hoping to look better brush my teeth, and race down the stairs brushing my hair. When I finally get downstairs I raced to the kitchen and grab an apple say bye to my mom then grab my book bag and car keys and head out the front door.
Once I step outside I stopped myself close my eyes and felt the wind go through my hair and brush against my face ,it woke me up completely, and felt amazing. After that moment of fresh air I walk to my car; an old-fashioned 1968 Mercedes I call Blue even though it's black. I get in the car take a deep breath before I start the car, after a minute I turn on the car and start to back out of the driveway.
Once I'm down the street from my school I look for a parking space. Once I see a spot a little ways down I make my way there. As soon as I was backing up into the space, car swoops in to take it. I was so mad I want to see who it was. It was a really nice red Jeep, someone was coming out of the driver seat it was, Samantha Chase, the most popular girl in school every guy loves. She's tall,tan, with gorgeous long straight brown hair and has beautiful blue eyes. She looks at me with a smirk knowing she made me mad, she hates me.
When someone comes out of the passenger seat I looked to see who it is. It's Him. The one guy that would never notice a girl like me now, even if I was running around naked in his house. It's Preston Daniels, every girls dream guy. Preston and I used to be best friends in middle school and a little in high school. I was in love with him. My best friend. Sophomore year he became the hottest guy in school, I never recognized him as that. I loved him before he was hot. I was in love with him as a person, all together. I know everything about him, his goals in life, his favorite place to go,the music he loves and who he liked since the 5th grade. Samantha Chase. We told each other everything, but it all went away so fast half way into sophomore year. When Sam and her friends invited him to hang out at lunch, I would see him less and less. Until I never did anymore.
After I stop thinking about the past he came out of the car and looked right into my eyes it all came back in one look it felt like forever but was only for a few seconds. He looks so good in those jeans he was wearing. After having eye contact I drove away as quickly as possible. I took a deep breath and looked down and smiled so hard my cheeks hurt and I felt tears coming down my face, tears...wow. He still had that effect on me. After a moment of getting it back together I drove around to find another parking space.
After I get out of the car I walk to my locker for the last time before summer, and grab my English book. I was right on time, the school bell rings so I close my locker and head to class. I sit in the back of the class in Mr. Stillman's first period. I settle down in my seat and open my book up and pretend like I'm reading, but I'm really playing Tetris on my phone. I start to think about Preston and this morning. He looks so good today, his stripped shirt brings out his eyes ,that are imprinted in my head. When I look up I notice Preston isn't in his seat. Where is he???
Five minutes into class I raise my hands to go to the bathroom, but of course Mr.Stillman him being so old can't see my hand is raised. I don't want to walk to the front of the room in the middle of a lesson just to ask if I could go to the bathroom. Ugh. Ten minutes later I get enough energy to get up and ask. As I roam the hall I got a glimpse of Preston around a corner, but he wasn't alone. Sam is w him (eye roll). They're arguing about something. I don't know if I should ease drop. Fuck it. As I peak around the corner pulling my thick curly hair behind my fairly large ear to listen, Steven Cook storms out of a class room right next to me. Causing Sam and Preston to stop talking and turn to see Steven and I right around the corner. This was probably the most awkwardest moment ever...Sam just looks at me and rolls her eyes. Trying to act like she wasn't just crying. " Get lost Bitch I'm trying to talk to MY boyfriend" Sam yells at me. In my head I'm like who tf she think she talking too. But all I did was roll my eyes flip her off and turn around to go back to class.
As I was walking back to class I ran into my best friend kade, kade is probably the only reason I got threw this year. He's been there for me threw everything. " Dude you won't believe what just happened!", said kade laughing. "What! What!" I said eagerly. " I just saw Taylor and Todd doing it in the parking lot, and everyone was video taping" kade said while laughing. "I can never tell what your saying when you laugh" I said laughing so hard I couldn't even understand myself smh. " Well after school you tryna go to the diner? I'm hella craving pancakes, I only had an apple for breakfast. I woke up late." Kade nodded at me and said " Ya we can, I didn't get to eat either I got busy w Justice, I'm telling you I really like her."
