Chapter 8
And so just in a short moment, one month passed by like the wind. I'm still trying to find for my dad. Till now theres still no news from Jong Guk.
And tomorrow, we're gonna be given a project which can also be considered as our 'first project'.
Whoever manage to pass this project will be able to stay on working in the company as an intern. While those that fail this project are going to leave the company.
It's already 1am and I couldn't sleep yet cause of nervousness I guess.
What if I failed the project? Im never going to find my dad. I'm not able to see Jong Guk anymore and all kinds of weird stuff keep coming into my mind making me unable to sleep. Ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Just then I got out of bed and started to do some exercise hoping that it might be able to make me sleepy. A few minutes passed. I felt exhausted instead of sleepy damn.
And so i took out my phone to text Jong Guk to see whether is he asleep or not.
' Annyeong! Are u sleeping?'
* A few minutes later*
*ting ting* I quickly went and opened the message
' Yah! What time is it already? Tomorrow's an important day! Go sleep!!!!!'
The way he text is just mysteriously cute and it brought a smile on my face.
' Ne~~~! Good night! '
And forcefully force myself to bed.

*Ringggg* *Ringgggg*
My alarm rang sharp at 5am.
I quickly jumped out of bed and rush to the toilet to get ready.
AHHHHH~! WHAT IS THIS DARK CICLE DOING HERE!!! I screamed out of frustration and applied some bb cream to cover it. Combed my wig neatly, sprayed on some perfume.
Tips number one : Must look neat in front of CEO.
Tips number two : Must leave a good impression in front of CEO
Tips number three : Be early not punctual I murmured
And so I took my bag and went out of the hostel.
The time is 7.30am I said proudly and happily to myself as it's the first time I'm so early.
Walked to coffee Bay just across the street and bought a cup of latte. On my way out, I met Jong Guk. He's coming in to buy some coffee and so I decided to wait for him.
' 1 cup of latte please' said Jong Guk and after awhile they passed him the latte and he came out.
' Let's go' I said happily while holding the warm latte.
What drinks u buy? he asked
" Latte'
' Oh really?? Nadoo (me too) he replied
'Daebak' I replied
And so we both walked to the office together.
8.30am
All interns, Lee Jong as well as Jong Guk gathered in the meeting room while waiting for CEO to come.
"Yaa! Everyone sit right up CEO is going to come soon' said Jong Guk
And so everyone started feeling the pressure and nervousness including me.
*Ding," the elevator door opens,.*
Everyone stood up as the meeting room door opened.
Revealing a guy dressed in suite together with his secretary.
He looks scary I mumbled.
He then asked everyone to sit and so we did.
"Mic test," he spoke into the microphone. "Welcome! I'm Ok Ji Wook, CEO of this company." He greets us.I continued to stare at the CEO, in a daze almost. "All of you here are full of potential," he gestures toward the crowd, "and we want you.
Through this internship, we'll select the best of the best and only the best of the best is able to join our company formally."
The slides on the gigantic screen are as propagandist as it can get. I scoffed a little at how ridiculous the slides and how exaggerated he is when he talks.
'Now I'm going to give out the project to 5 of you'
He then asked 5 of us to pick one envelope each which is arrange neatly on the table and so we did.
'Inside the envelope, there will be a piece of paper stating down the title of everyone's assignment, opened it and see ' said the CEO. And so we did.
Oh and by the way, I think I forgot to say but this company is a big company.
This company is a business company and I don't know anything about business so I totally don't have confident in passing this project.
My assignment title is 'Suggest a new product and state the function and advantages' it isn't as easy as u see.
'You all are allowed to find one partner to help u and guide u in this assignment'. said the CEO
Immediately Jong Guk came into my mind.
Ji Wook CEO ended his speech with ''hwaiting'' and the meeting is over.
I'm feeling all stress out. Should I ask Jong Guk to be my partner? I muttered to myself.
And so I did, I went to his office
Jin Young : ' Err'
Jong Guk : 'Wae?''
Jin Young : Can u be my partner in this assignment?
Jong Guk : Yea sure, but under 1 condition
Jin young : What condition?
Jong Guk : Buy me lunch
Jin Young : Hahaha Ne~! Kamsahamnida! I said happily
And walked back to the office to search about the assignment.
* 1pm aka lunch time*
I didn't even realize its already lunch. I'm still all stressing up searching for information and idea until Jong Guk came and knock my desk and asked lunch?
I told him wait awhile let me find this 1 more information'' ill be down right away after that I insisted.
Jong Guk then said ''Continue your work later, fasterrrr'
Before I can retaliate, he grabs hold onto my wrist and pulled me towards the canteen.
"You have a really small wrist." He says as he wraps my wrist with his fingers.
"Speaking of which, your hands are really tiny too." He says, fiddling with my hands.
"Almost... Feminine." He finally said it. The word I fear most at this point in time. "What feminine? I'm manly alright!" I pull my hands free from his grasp. "Gosh. Why are you making such a big fuss? Oh yeah, sissy." He reminds himself of what he often calls me. Despite knowing he's just joking, I can't help but feel a little insecure. Ignoring that, we queued up, got our food and found some empty seats.
"You eat like a turtle," Jong Guk comments. I spit upon hearing such an insult for the first time. "See? You eat exactly like a turtle, making a mess." He says as he picks up a napkin and starts to get awkwardly close to my face. He starts to wipe my mouth in which after a couple of seconds, my heart started beating very fast and my face started turning pinkish and I couldn't help it and reached for his wrist with one hand and the napkin with another to wipe it myself. "Sissy." He mutters to himself. "Gay." I said jokingly, since when is it a thing where guys help each other to wipe their mouths?
"Pfft. Whatever," he tries to stop the bickering in which he succeeds. After he's done with his food, he stands up and leaves. "Where are you going?" I ask as a natural instinct, if he leaves, I'll be left alone with a bunch of strangers. "There's a party, coming??" He asks. I nod as there is nothing I can do except to follow him around. It seems as if he knows this place inside out. "Why are you so informed about all of these?" I ask. "Social circle." He answers.
It's true that he has a really big and wide social circle, everywhere he goes, he addresses everybody by name. This guy is really something. I'm not even sure if it is a good or bad thing to have him as my partner. I was wondering, if your social circle is so big by chance did u find out anything about my father? I asked. I did found out a little bit but Im not sure whether is it true or not, I'll try rechecking and let u know when I find out. He said
' Okay' I nodded
