You might think you're reading another boring piece of text on your screen. Just let me tell you now that this is (hopefully) a romantic story. It's not a horror or a thriller; sometimes it might seem that way, but I'll assure you that it isn't meant to be. This story is about a girl of my dreams.

We met early in our childhood; I lived in Britain at the time while she moved away to Australia. I never knew why and my heart felt as if it had been taken with her. However, life carried on and after what seemed like forever, I found myself as the school captain in sixth grade. A few years passed and I discovered my talent. I soon became the top basketball player in high school. Everyone knows my talent and brags about it during competitions. I'm not big on being competitive; I just enjoy the games.

When I get out of school I want to become a sports teacher. I know it's not anything overly exciting but it's what I want to do. My parents, teachers and coach are pushing me to do something bigger and better because I'm great at science and mathematics but I know what I want to do and I'm going to stick with it. Money isn't everything.

Wow, I can't believe that I found this book again. I thought I'd lost it. It's been five years since I wrote in here last and if you're wondering, I am now a proud sports teacher. Actually, I've become more than that now and am training athletes. I get paid really well and the environment is fun, yet competitive which I've surprisingly grown to love.

Anyway, I'm on a date so I better head off so I'm not late.

It's 12pm now and I've just come back. It's funny for me to want to write in this notebook but I'm so happy. I need to remember this night and that's what this book is for.

I went on a date with my old best friend. But guess what?! It was the same girl I was in love with when I was nine years old. I only saw her last week for the first time is years. She was grabbing a coffee and when I heard her name being called out, my head shot up instinctively. I jumped out of the long queue and quickly followed her as she ran off away from the rain that started to come down. When we were under cover I said her name and she jumped in surprise asking me who I was. Then she realised.

"Kyle?" She asked.

"Yeah, it's me. I thought I'd never see you again after you moved to Australia."

"Ah, I'm so sorry I never wrote to you or called. My parents refused to let me and I didn't understand why. I'm so sorry. It's been so long." She looked down to the ground, looking ashamed.

"Olivia, it's fine. That was years ago.. but why did you come back?" As I asked her, she smiled a sorry smile and started.

"I've been here for three years Kyle. I moved back here after I ran away from my parents. My dad was becoming abusive and my mum left. I didn't want to decide who to stay with so that night I packed and left."

"I'm so sorry to hear that. To be honest, I wish I knew you had come back."

"I know, I'm sorry Kyle--" I cut her off knowing what I said was wrong.

"Sorry, that was rude. It's okay, I'm glad I finally found you though."

"What? You were looking for me?" She asked, surprised.

"Well, no but sure as hell I wanted to. I had no idea where you were in Australia but if I knew you had come back I would've been asking everyone."

"Why?" I feel my cheeks heat up and look away.

"Well, we were best friends. I'm sorry, I just thought.. Never mind."

"We still are. I just never believed I'd see you again."
