I look down at Beca, and a deep blush spreads across her cheeks. I feel my heart beating in my chest as I wait for a reply.

I watch as the question sinks in and her look of suprise changes to one of pure glee.

"Yes!"

My mouth twists up into an involuntary toothy grin, and I try to stop myself from squealing like the excited child I feel like right now. It's the first time I've felt this happy in a long time.

"On one condition" she says.

I cock my head questioningly.

"I get to choose where we go. And pay."

"That's two conditions" I mock.

"Oh well. I was never good at math" she replies, smirking. "So is that okay?"

I can tell by the look of determination on her face that she isn't going to take no for an answer. "Fine."

"Wear a dress" she tells me.

I blush for a moment and look down at my feet, trying to avoid eye contact. "I, um, I don't have a dress"

I look up. She gives me a pitying look for a moment but quickly changes her facial expression to one of pure positivity. "Well, I would lend you one, but in case you haven't noticed: you're slightly taller than me."

I laugh. It's the first time I've laughed in years. It sounds  horrible. Like a throaty cackle. I stop instantly and clear my throat.

"You're so cute when you laugh. You should do it more often" Beca tells me.

For once, I'm lost for words.  I quickly change the subject. "So what are we going to do about dinner? Shall we go somewhere else? Somewhere I don't have to wear a dress?"

"No" Beca tells me. "We're going shopping."

Hey guys! I just thought I'd apologise for my slow updates... I have to be in the right mood to write, so that's why I usually end up posting a few chapters at once, then not posting for a while. Never the less, I hope you're still enjoying the story! Thanks for reading! Feedback is greatly appreciated, so feel free to leave your opinions in the comments :) x
