Peter opened his mouth and wanted to say something. Then he closed it back.
“I can see that you don’t believe me. I have to admit if the situation was reverse I wouldn’t believe you either. We are way too comfortable inside of our own limits that we can hardly accept something beyond what we think is safe.”
“It’s not that,” said Peter, “I was just thinking how endlessly bored you had to be the first couple of years being a helpless child that cannot do anything.”
“Quite opposite. I managed to find out things beyond imaginable because of these years and because of the great potential of child’s brain that is not yet filled with all this ballast.”
“You managed the teleportation.”
“That’s right.”
“And levitation.”
“And many other things. I’ll show you when we get a chance.”
“But why on earth have you wanted to commit a suicide?”
“You must understand that a human life is a constant search. We are on a search for a purpose, to find out who we really are. I searched for this and I probably found it. I even found out who I am in the mean while. And now I’m just tired. When you use all the possibilities, do everything that you can think of and a lot more, then it becomes boring.”
“What about a family, kids and stuff?”
“Ah yes. I had wives, more than you could imagine. I also had children. Even up to fifty I think.”
Peter curiously raised his eyebrow.
“Of course not all with a same woman,” playfully laughed Milo.
“But to commit a suicide. This is so…”
“Final,” Milo finished the sentence. “When a man experiences life the way I did it, he can leave this world in peace.”
“I completely get you, but… It came to my mind that earlier you said we have met before. I have to admit I don’t remember your face from before. I guess that wasn’t in this lifetime.”
“You are right. It was during the time I decided to be a bank robber.”
“Khm,” Peter choked on his beer. “Say that again?”
“I’m not proud of this part of my life. It was a life after I was deeply disappointed in some girl. I decided to try myself as a villain.”
“Aha, from disappointment or from sheer boredom?”
“A little of both. It all started on a rainy afternoon…”
