School is done for the day and I head back to my car. What's with Luke and calling me princess lately? I wonder as I sling my backpack on and head for the gates. I just get into my car when Luke texts me. I ignore the text and close my door and prepare myself to drive home for another beating. My phone rings and so I answer it and totally dread the voice on the other end. "Megan Alyssa Conner where the hell are you?!" My dad slurs into the phone. "Don't worry dad school just got out I'm on my way home right now", I say sweetly hoping that if I play my cards right he won't beat me so hard. He grunts into the phone and hangs up. I slump forward and let my head rest on the steering wheel before I start to cry. I can't stop, I just cry, and cry, and cry. My phone rings again. I wiped my eyes and answer it not checking the caller ID. "Hello?" I say hiding the fact that I was just crying. "Why the hell are you crying?" Luke's voice asks. Is he pissed off? "What are you talking about?" I ask as if I honestly had no clue what was happening. "Look to your right stupid", Luke then hangs up and I look over to see him walking over to my car.

Luke opens the passenger door and lets himself into my car. "What do you think you're doing Hemmings?", I say sternly. He chuckles, "I saw you crying and I need a ride home". He says as if it was a normal conversation. I stare at him questioning if I should trust him. "Hey just by the way", Luke continues, "my mum isn't home so we can do that study thing today if you don't want to go home". He looks down at his shoes. Is he on drugs?! He thinks I would rather spend time helping him then just get my beating over with? I sigh and pull out my phone dialing my dad's number. "What do you want", he snarls, "sorry to bother you dad but the principle told me I had to tutor a fellow classmate of mine and they want to start today so I just wanted to let you know". He grunts and hangs up.

"Ok how do I get to your house?" I ask, "just start driving and I'll tell you where to go", Luke practically snarls. Geez you don't have to be such a bitch. I buckle up and pullout of the school parking lot. Luke picks up some of my CDs and starts to look through them. "Hey paws off the merchandise", I say flatly. Luke laughs a little before pulling one out of the stack and loading it into my stereo. I hear the first cords of American Idiot by Green Day. I smile a little, "good choice", I mumble. Luke laughs, a genuine, beautiful, amazing laugh. Don't think like that Megan. "Who knew a loser could have such a good music taste", Luke teases. We both laugh as if we were friends talking normally. As soon as it happened it stopped, we rode the rest of the way in silence, besides Luke telling me where to turn and of course the blaring music that shook my whole car.

"Ok so when you get to that corner turn right then take the first left". I do as I'm told. "Ok now take the second right and go straight for a while and I'm the house on the end". Luke says plainly. We drive down to the house and Luke practically jumps out of my car as soon as I pull into his drive way. I throw my car into park, grab my bag and hurry after Luke. He pulls out a little Falling In Reverse lanyard with a cute guitar looking key on the end, from his pocket. "Cute key", I mumble, "shut up". I wait for Luke to open the door, and I step inside. I walk into the living room and stand awkwardly next to the old, red, victorian looking, couch. Luke walks into another room and comes back out two bottles of water and an apple.

"Follow me", he grunts. We both head for the stairs that were behind me. When we reach the top we turn right into the hall and walk all the way down to the last room on the end. I notice the door has a 'keep out' sign pinned to it. He bites into his apple and keeps it his mouth while he turns the nob and opens up the door. I follow him into his room and I glance around. His room looked pretty similar to mine, posters everywhere, dirty clothes all over the floor, a computer desk with a laptop, cd player, a bunch of cd's, and of course a spinning chair. I chuckle and Luke stares at me. The only thing different was that in between the little spaces in his posters, you could see that his wall was made of bricks. "What's so funny?", Luke questions, "oh nothing besides the fact that we basically have the same room". Luke glares at me, "you serious?" I nod before saying "only difference is that you have brick walls and I have lavender walls...I think". Luke laughs and then sits in his chair at his desk. I stand awkwardly for a moment until Luke points towards his bed, "sit". I do as I'm told moving a few dirty shirts in the process. All of a sudden something clicked in my mind and I didn't feel comfortable. I looked over at Luke who was texting someone on his phone and smirking. "Uh...hey Luke I forgot something in my car I'll be right back". He nods as I pull on my back pack and casually walk out of his room. As soon as I'm out I bolt down the hallway, down the stairs, out the front door, and into my car. The moment that I shift my car into reverse Luke comes running out of his front door with Michael, Ashton, and Calum running out of his backyard with cartons of eggs in their hands. I slam onto the gas and leave Luke's house. They all start throwing eggs at my car but miss. How did I not sense this before? How could I have been so stupid? Oh god I'm so going to get it.
