Author : Hi everyone! I'm a new writer here. I planned to make this story into a quite long series, but I wonder when will this ends. I'm still a high school student anyway, so I won't be able to proceed too fast. By the way, how's the prologue? Well enough? I'd like to hear some comments about this story, so feel free to drop your comments down there! FYI, this story's setting is medieval, so just imagine some wooden and brick houses along with a stone floor on the entire town. Finally it's up! Sorry for the long wait...

Anyway, Enjoy!!!

Chapter 1 : Fresh Drips of Blood

This morning...

"Good day, Ms. Lily. How are you today?", ask a man at the market.

"I'm fine today, Mr. Roberto. Is there anything I can do for you?", I replied to my neighbor.

"There is, actually. It's important", he said.

I look at his eyes and know his word immediately. Another proposal today? Really, these men never give up, aren't they? I'm sure that Mr. Roberto is the third man that gave me this marriage proposal. I just denied the other two who came earlier. Why won't this stop?

"Please follow me", he told me with an uneasy face.

I followed him, reluctantly. He entered a cafe near the market. As he reach his table, he pull a chair and gestured me to sit down. I quickly sat there while he pull a big envelope from his suitcase. Soon he open it and put its content in front of me.

"Miss Lily, it's been a year since I have this feeling for you. I really want to marry you. So, here is my proposal. I have talked to my parents and they are willing to bring you into my family. So, will you?"

"I'm sorry. I can't accept that", is what I said.

He frowned.

"But why? You have to find a partner too, aren't you?"

"I do have to do that. But I can't think of any partner right now. I don't really know you, Mr. Roberto. Sorry, I have to go now"

I stood up and went to the exit of the cafe, when he held my wrist in his hand.

"Why are you holding my hand, Mr.Roberto?"

"We haven't done yet, Ms. Lily"

"We are done"

"We still have a lot to discuss"

"No, we don't. I have to return to my stall"

"Don't go now! Please lis--"

"LET GO!!!", I shouted as loud as I could.

He let go of my hand with a stunned look.

"Just leave me. Alone...", I said with tears on my eyes.

I leave him soon. I just can't look at his face right now. I'll go to my stall right away.

"They are so cruel. They forced me to do what they want. They don't know who I am. I can't take this anymore. I can't stand their humiliation anymore. Even I know what to do. I know what I want. Foolish men. Foolish humans..."

"Begone. Forever."

I stopped. What kind of words was that? Why was that words rang on my head? I remember that my mind went blank when that words appeared. Before I realized it, I saw my flower stall right in front of me. I went inside and check the glass jar with 'PAY HERE' written on it. It's empty.

"No buyer today? Oh well...", I sighed heavily.

Maybe everyone thought that the shop was closed, since I wasn't there since this morning. What will I eat tomorrow? I started to arrange my flower in the basket. As I arrange my roses, I noticed that one of my roses lay down on the stone floor, already wither.
