because Larry with dogs is the cutest fucking thing in the world

so Harry would be driving back from a meeting with some people from the new record label and see a puppy on the side of the road
and of course he couldn't just leave it there, Louis, he's just a baby and you know how people are these days, they see something and want to hurt it.
so Louis would let him have the puppy even though, really, baby, you know I'm more of a cat person and so are you. But he let Harry have the dog because he loves him very much.
Harry wanted to name the small dog something from Lord Of the Rings, and even though really, baby? you didn't even like that movie, and I did too!, only because Benedict was in it, they decided on Smaug.
mainly because once the puppy arrived in their home, their slippers and even some of Harry's headbands had gone missing.
of course, when they went to check on Smaug, he was hoarding them all under his tiny little body.
Harry, being the arts and crafts "expert" in the family, enlisted Gemma and his mum's help in making a blanket out of the headbands he never wore anymore.
he even got Louis to donate a few old shirts because please, sweetheart, it'll be adorable!
and it was.
and they loved that puppy with all their hearts.
