The Missing Friend

Chapter 1

It was a normal morning. I woke up at 6:25 am as usual. My alarm went off at exactly 6:00 am but I had gone to bed around 12:30 am the night before. I was quite tired so I slept in another 25 minutes. I finally got up and made my way down stairs to the kitchen. My mum usually works night shifts at a post office so she wasn't home yet. She had left a note on the kitchen bench saying- I made you some fresh pancakes this morning. They are in the fridge. Once I had read the note I scrunched it up and chucked it in the bin. I wasn't that hungry so I went straight to the bathroom and got out my toothbrush,toothpaste and listerine. I started to brush my teeth when my phone started to ring. I raced to my room and answered the phone. It was my best friend Amber. Amber: "Hey I'll be at your house in about 10 minutes". Me: "Ok see you soon". In that short period of time I raced back to the bathroom brushed my teeth and headed back to my room. I made my bed and got changed into my school uniform. I didn't want to go to school with a empty stomachs so I went to the kitchen and grabbed a breakfast shake out of the fridge. I headed out the door and grabbed my school bag. Just as I had left the house Ambers mum pulled into the driveway. I got into their car and we pulled out of my drive way. We were half way down the street when Amber said "Hey do you know if that history project is due today?". Me: "Yeah I did it last night". Amber: "Do you think Mrs Watts will get mad?". Me: "Probably". By the time we finished our conversation we were nearly at school. Btw our school was roughly 10 minutes away from my house but I couldn't be bothered to actually walk to school even though I was the most athletic girl in year 7. Anyway we got to school 10 minutes early and we headed to our first class-History. Our usual teacher Mrs Watts wasn't at school today . Everyone was so exited that she wasn't at school because hardly anyone had done the history project that we got assigned 3 weeks ago. Amber quietly whispered into my ear-"OH MY GOSH I am so glad that Mrs Watts isn't here today".Before I could even answer back to Amber the relief teacher walked into the door and wrote her name on the whiteboard-Mrs Sheaudo. Everyone stared with de spare and started to talk to each other. By this time I really needed to pee so I jogged over to Mrs Shaundo and asked politely if I could go to the toilet. She answered back with a big smile on her face "yes of course you can". I sprinted to the toilet and went straight to the cubical. I started to go to the toilet when the door slammed open. Emily?. Yes? I answered. "It's Amber". "Oh ok". I quickly finished going to the toilet and washed my hands. Amber and I started to talk about her boyfriend Brandon and how he had recently broke his leg at football practice. When we finished talking about Brandon I started to talk about the netball game that we had coming up on the weekend. We were going to verse our big rivals-The Fire Ants. They had cheated every time we versed them which was about 4 times. Anyway before I finished talking the bell rang for recess. We sprinted back to class and quickly sat down at our desks before the teacher turned around. She dismissed the class and called Amber and I over to her desk. She asked us why we took so long in the toilets and Amber answered-Mr Johnson asked us to help him with something. She nodded her head and dismissed us. As soon as we walked out of the classroom is looked over to Amber and said "why did you lie to Mrs Shaundo?". Amber replied "because if we had told her the truth we would of gotten in trouble". I was quick to answer back and I said "if she finds out that we lied we will get in even more trouble then we would of if we had just took her the truth". Amber replied "don't worry she won't find out". Then I asked Amber if she wanted to race me to the bags. Of course she answered. 1,2,3 GO! we sprinted really quickly to the bags and as always I beat her. We grabbed our lunch boxes out of our school bags and raced each other to where we were going to sit. Of course I beat her again. We ate for about 10 minutes and put our lunch boxes back into our bags. The bell rang and we went to our next class which was P.E. After we finished P.E we had Math. As soon as we got into math class our teacher handed out a test that we had to complete in exactly 20 minutes. Amber was very competitive with me and she tried to race me to finish the math sheet. I finished at exactly 7 minutes and 18 seconds and Amber finished in 17 minutes and 15 seconds. As soon as the class finished we headed out to lunch. Amber wasn't talking to me because she was angry that I finished before her in math. We ate for 10 minutes and played chasey for another 10 minutes. As soon as the bell rung we had one more class till the end of the day which was Science. We were dissecting frogs and cow eye balls. When we finished science there was 2 minutes until the bell rang so our teacher let us out early. We caught the bus to my house and went to netball training. When netball training finished Ambers mum picked her up and my mum picked me up and we went back to our houses. When I got home I quickly finished one of my homework tasks and then ate some dinner. I said goodnight to my mum and headed off to bed. I set my alarm for 6:00am and watched some YouTube videos and then fell asleep.
