Tay and I approached the bonfire, her arm still secured around my shoulder, and I finally could see the two up close. The girl was about my height, with blonde hair and lightly tanned skin. She wore a pair of white shorts and a black tank top with what I assumed to be a boy’s jacket, considering it was practically a dress on her. Her blue eyes looked up at us as we approached.
“Tay, tell Ace he’s being an inconsiderate jackass!” The girl screeched and Tay looked over at whom I assumed to be Ace. He was as tall as Tay, and had messy black hair. If it weren’t for his icy blue eyes and obvious masculine features, he and Tay could have been clones. He wore black denim jeans, which he sagged extranomically low with a white belt, showing his plaid boxers. He wore a gray v-neck and Nikes. He had on thick square-rimmed glasses, yet he somehow pulled them off.
“Ace, you’re being an inconsiderate jackass.” Tay said lazily, as she stopped walking in front of the bonfire, her arm moving from around my shoulders to around my waist. I was nervous as she did this, searching the other two’s faces to see how they were taking this. To my surprise, however, they seemed not to care. I, on the other hand, was having a mini panic attack.
Ace sighed and said, “I’m not being an inconsiderate freaking jackass, Savvie. If you want Jake to suddenly become attracted to you, then go talk to him. I’m not going to ask him if he’s straight, I’m not going to ask him if he likes you, and I am most definitely not putting in a good word for you. I’m a lot of things, hun, but I’m not a liar.” With this, the girl I assumed to be Savvie screamed and started hitting Ace with merciless fists. He blocked every one of her attempts effortlessly, and with slight irritation gleaming in his eyes.
“Sav, calm down.” Tay chuckled, and this lead Savvie to send her a glare before hitting Ace with more force.
“God damnit, Savvie!” Ace yelled before grabbing her wrists and pinning them to her sides. She did not contain her anger in the slightest, and instead kicked between his legs and turned away, crossing her arms across her chest.
“Rude, insensitive, piece of shit.” She grumbled before kicking the dirt.
“Wow! Okay!” Ace yelled, still bending over his privates, “Coming from the girl who not only makes damn sure that I will not be able to reproduce when I am older, but the one who also blames everyone else but herself for her problems. Awesome. Glad to know that compared to you, I’m the rude, insensitive, piece of shit.”
“I would think that would be making me a freaking saint since no one wants any spawns of Satan running around that were produced from your very own disgusting di-”
“Change the subject. Now.” I heard Tay say, her free hand holding the bridge of her nose.
“No. Not until Ace here agrees to help me out with getting together with Jake.”
“If you want to be with him so badly, why don’t you actually try?” Playful irritation was lacing Tay’s tone as she unwrapped her arm from around my waist to light up a cigarette. The absence of her touch seemed to weigh down on me as well as any weight could have.
“I am trying. See this? This is me trying. The only reason why I’m not succeeding is because someone,” She gave a pointed stare to Ace, who glared in return before bumming a cigarette from Tay, “won’t assist me in one incey-wincey-tiny freaking way.” She folded her arms again across her chest, sending a look of total pissyness towards Ace.
“The reason I don’t want to help you, you god damn shit bag, is because who you end up in bed with doesn’t concern me.” Ace argued, his irritation seeming to grow.
“I’m not asking for it to concern you, I’m just asking for you to at least get us alone for like a flipping minute. I just want to be able to talk to him!”
