Green

Green surrounds me. That's all I've seen for the past 3 hours of continuous running, is green. the sun is setting by now and I need to find someplace to stay, like in a cave or tall tree. I keep running until I realize I'm not on the ground anymore, I'm on asphalt.

As far as I can see which is pretty far, there is a small town at the bottom of the hill I'm on. I bark happily, look around for anyone and shift. I wear the clothes that I carried in my mouth while running.

The outfit is simple, a t-shirt with some shorts, no shoes. I walk down the hill and am almost there when a truck comes barreling down the hill. the dark green truck opens and I spot a little girl, probably around the age of eight. She has blonde hair and is wearing them in pigtails. She also wears an overall jean dress with some sparkly pink tennis shoes.

I can also see the silhouette of a man in the front seat. The little girl bounces up to me "Hi, Miss. Would you like a ride into to town with us?" She asks so sweetly, I resist the urge to just gush over her.

"Sure. I'd love that, thank you."

"Your welcome!" with that she turns and bounces back to the truck. I slowly walk towards it, I wonder who's in there.

I hop inside the truck and notice that the man is very old. He is probably the little girl's grandfather. "I really appreciate you doing this, sir." He grunts in response.

"Sorry, he's grouchy. My name is Kinz." she looks at me with big green eyes.

"Zara."

The truck screeches to a stop. The old man looks at me "You mean the missing Zara from the Lune Mere?"

I gulp and nod. He nods and clucks his tongue "I've got to turn around."

"Wait! No! I can't go back there."

He stares skeptically at me. "And just why not?"

"Because! Uhh..." my mind blanks for a moment "Because they have these giant purple alligator balloons and they scare me to death!"

Kinz starts to laugh but stops when she sees the look on her grandfather's face. The look of total and utter disbelief. "I'm taking you back."

"No." and with that I unlock, open and jump from the car in a matter of seconds. I'm like a freakin' ninja. I hear Kinz scream but that's it. I end up being not-so-ninja and roll on the ground for a while. I get up dust off my shorts and notice I'm right outside a gas station, and the rest of the town is that much closer as well. For those of you who didn't get that.

I do a happy dance, which earns a few glances from passerby's but, oh well. I'm walking down the sidewalk and guess what's green and just sitting there waiting for someone to claim it? That being me?

A one hundred freacking dollar bill.

No, not a dollar. One hundred dollar bill. Fuck yes! This is gonna be awesome!
