I have a big family. Sadly.

"I'd like to be by myself. You know like, in my room."  my older sister, Ophelia said. She isn't a big fan of the family meetings my mother decided to have once a week. "Selena, I have a life. I have things to do, I do not have time to sit and talk about shit-" She stopped herself.

"Lia for the love of God, stop calling me by my first name. It's impolite." My mother said.

"Mom, where's dad?" my younger sister, Paislee asked. It was clear that my mother did not want to answer that.

"He's running late, he's going to be here. He's always here for our family meetings." My mom said.

"Mom, we just started last week." Paislee said.

I've never been the kid that got all the spotlight in the family. It's either the attention is on Paislee or it's on Ophelia. I don't say much when I'm around my mom or dad. We're not close.

I heard the door unlock and I knew it was my dad.

"Hey, sorry i'm late." He said as he walked into the living room.

"Okay, so how was everyone's day?" My mom asked.

I don't like Mondays, and I'm pretty sure Monday feels the same way about me. After I got out the shower, I decided to wear a black high wasted flare pleated mini skirt, I picked out a random shirt and wore my black vans. I called my best friend, Nirvana. We always walk to school together because my siblings and I go to different schools.

She picked up on the third ring. "I'm right outside your door." She said.

"Okay." I said before I hung up. I ran to the front door and went outside.

"Claire." She said.

"Hm?"

"What are you wearing?"

"What do you mean what am I wearing?" I asked.

"Never mind, if you need me to wake up earlier and help you pick out your clothes for school, I will." She said.

"Oh, shut up." I said, rolling my eyes.

"I'm serious." She said, laughing.

My  morning classes went by quickly. It was time for lunch. The worst part of the day. Sometimes Nirvana would go out to eat, and leave me to be by myself in this jail called the cafeteria. Today, thankfully she didn't go out to eat.

"How was your classes?" She asked.

"Dull." I said, playing with my food.

"How's the family meetings going?"

"It's fine."

"And you?" She asked

"I'm fine." I said. "Thanks for asking."

"No prob. You wanna go outside with me, get some fresh air?"

"I'm okay here."

"K, see ya." She said before going outside.

When I went back to class, I wanted nothing more but to be home. A few hours later,  I went home. When I got home I opened my windows and I noticed a picture in the the other house that was next to mine.  I went outside my house to check if the house still had the "For Sale." sign. It didn't have it anymore. I think I have a new neighbor.  I wanted to know who my neighbor was, I guess I will unless he/she never gets out the house a lot.

"Claire, have you seen our new neighbor?" Paislee asked when I entered the house.

"No."

"He's hot." She said.

"He's a guy." I said, more to myself.

"Yeah." She said.

"Where's Lia?" I asked.

"Upstairs arguing with mom."

"Why?"

"She wants a new car and mom said no."

"Oh." I said before going up to my room.

I kept looking through my window. Just as I was about to close them, I saw a guy walk into the room in the other house. I think that's my neighbor.  I thought.  I kept looking at him, not just because he was very attractive, but because he looked... interesting. He walked up to his window, staring at me. I didn't feel very pretty, so I didn't want him to look at me for as long as he did. I didn't look away, it was almost as if we were having a staring contest, but with him smirking and me trying not to blush. I think I failed at trying.  I think his eye are dark green, he's so..  I snapped myself out of my thoughts. He let his eyes travel up and down my body.  I didn't have the courage to say something about that, so I just closed my window and used my curtains to cover it.  I couldn't stop smiling..

  That's my new neighbor.
