Coyote Attack
Part 1

One cold, breezy morning we were down in the Deer Yard. Suddenly we hear a loud noise. An enormous tree fell and slammed on the fluffy snow making us grunt to see if it was a predator and if it would move. After that we all run in fear realizing what’s going on. The deer yard is a place where we stay during the harsh winter in Vermont. “I wish those stupid humans would stop cutting down the trees we live and eat under”. Unexpectedly we start getting chased by coyotes. Through the field, down the hill, suddenly we come to a river. We pause to think how to get across.
The next thing we know coyotes come barging toward us so we bolt onto the ice. When all of a sudden my bestfriend falls through the ice. The coyotes run up to her and started snapping on her. After I made it across she crawled out and there was blood everywhere. I turn around and wait for her while she was slowly moving to the other side. As she got to the other side a coyote comes out from the woods and scampers towards us. So we run to the other side but it turns out that there are coyotes surrounding us.
At that moment we decided to run for it. We ran for a nearby lake and down a path. All of a sudden a logger spots us and the coyotes. He has a gun on him for protection for times like this. He pulls up his gun and puts the cross hairs on the coyote and shoots. The gunshot scared them away killing the other coyote. Fortunately for us it wasn’t deer season so we were safe from the logger.
We finally got away and went far up a mountain. As we found are new home we stop at a nearby brook to get a drink. We were relieved to know that are almost near death experience was over.
