So What?

"You can run but you can't hide," a deep voice bellowed what sounded like a few feet away. He's right, I can't hide behind this tree. My legs feel like jelly, my chest feels like it's going to explode, my mind tells me to run but my body won't co-operate.

"You smell sweet, Princess. I can't wait to taste you," the voice hissed. With all my effort I pushed my feet off the ground and ran as fast as I could out of where ever I am. "I like this game your playing, Princess. As much as I am loving this chase, I need a drink. And you smell mighty fine." The next thing I know is that I'm on the floor with a weight astride my chest. I looked up but all I could see was a shadow, red eyes and pearly white over-sized canine teeth. The shadow chuckled lightly and threw his head back, full on laughing. I wanted to speak, to scream. But all that came out was a breathy gasp for air as the thing put more weight on my chest.

"Sweet dreams Princess," he hissed before he plunged his teeth into my neck.

I jolted up and gasped for air. It was a dream, just a dream I told myself. I was too busy telling myself that it was a dream, that I didn't notice my mum was in my room.

"Andi dear, it's time to get ready for your first day at school." I nodded my head and looked at my alarm clock on my bedside table. 6:45. Shoot, school starts at 7.
