"Haseena beta uth jao!"
Haseena woke up at that call, her heart jumped, she had not dreamt of her mother since a long time. Guess, her brain just decided to play tricks, making her miss her mom when there was clearly no way she could contact her. She saw the time, it was 5 in the morning. She didnt have work today. Normally, she would go back to sleep, but she just wasnt feeling that today.
She missed her mom, a lot. She missed the way her hand caressed her forehead while she kept her head on Ammi's lap. She missed the way her mother would feed her while Haseena ran around the whole house. She missed the way her Ammi cared, she missed the way how her mother would make sure she had breakfast when she left for school. She missed all that a lot.
She decided to get out of bed and get some of her assignment done. Maybe, that would distract her from all thoughts she was having about her mother.

7AMs were something Karishma looked forward to now. She used to really dread that before, the time she had to be in boring classes. But now, she got to sit beside someone, sit beside Haseena.
She wanted to hop all the way from the gate of the college to the classroom. She controlled herself. The feelings were new, they were more happy, joyful, exciting. Something she wanted to feel more of. Something she really looked forward to.
Her eyes darted to the end of the classroom, where Haseena usually sat. And not to her surprise, she was there, as always. The students were just starting to come in for the first lecture. Karishma moved forward, guided herself to the table and sat beside Haseena.
"Hi" Haseena said, looking away from the old, worn out textbook she was reading from and settling her gaze on Karishma. She felt her heart flutter. Haseena's smile, her eyes being fixated on Karishma. Was this how ecstacy felt?
"Hello," Karishma said, wanting to scoot closer, but she restrained herself.
They talked a little while, then the professor came in, continuing stuff where he left from. That was all left. Haseena wanted to concentrate on the lecture, but Karishma just couldn't. Having Haseena by her side was something really precious to her.
"Haseena, tests aa rahe hai, kya kare hum. Kuch padha hi nhi hai humne" Karishma said, bored, hiding her face in her palms. Ending the sentence with a groan.
Haseena chuckled, classic Karishma, she thought. "Hamare yahan aake padhna pasand karengi? Even I need a partner, I could use some help myself" Haseena asked.
Karishma's eyes opened bright at that idea. Now, all she wanted was the college to end sooner. "Haan, aayenge" Karishma said, hiding the excitement she was in.
When the day was finally over, Karishma felt like the day took months to get over but it was finally 3 in the afternoon. She called her mom to inform that she will be home late, as she was going to Haseena's house to study. Well, study was the excuse she had given her mom. The real deal, only her heart knew what it was. Even her mind didn't. Her heart just knew that it wanted to go where Haseena was going.
Haseena was quite silent on their way to the gate. Karishma noticed that, but she was torn between saying something or being silent herself. With Haseena, even silent felt nice.
"Karishma suniye," Haseena finally told, her legs still walking and her head still looking at the ground.
"Hmm" Karishma said, looking at her.
