The snow was just beginning to fall as I walked the streets of the town center. It was Christmas Eve and I was looking at the stores for a present for my little brother who was just emitted into the hospital. I was looking up at the snow when someone bumped into me, causing both of our purchases, and the drink I was holding in my hand, to clatter to the ground. "I'm so sorry, miss." The teen said as he started to pick up the stuff.
"Oh it's okay." I said, also bending over picking up my stuff. Just then, we both picked up our heads which were so close that they hit each other.
"Oh ow. I'm really sorry, ma'am. I'm just in a hurry. You see, I just got a text from my dad asking me to come over and spend the night because my mom isn't doing to well." The boy explained as he rubbed his head in embarrassment.
"Oh. I understand. I was looking around for a present for my little brother who was just emitted into the hospital a few days ago." I said. The boy then realized the hot chocolate that I had been holding, was spilt on the ground.
"Hey, why don't I treat you to some coffee or something, seeing that I accidentally cause you to spill yours." The boy offered.
"Umm, sure. Why not?" I replied, smiling. With that said the boy grabbed my hand and we started heading over to a cafe that didn't seemed to be to crowded. Once seated, we began talking about everything that was going on in our lives. The boy was just beginning college, and so was I. We talked about our jobs and family. By the time our drinks came, tears were in our eyes from laughing so much.
"Hey, this may sound weird, after talking as much as we were, but what's your name?" The boy asked me.
"It's Clarita," I replied. "What's yours?"
"Azeri." He returned.
"Well Azeri, here's my number in case you need someone to talk to." I said as I held out a napkin that I quickly wrote on.
"In that case," Azeri started, ripping a piece off a piece of the napkin and stealing my pen."I'll give you mine in return." He finished writing and handed it to me. Then we finished what was left of our drinks and went our separate ways. I was not expecting the call I received the next day.
