Prologue: An unexpected encounter

Hey guys, weebburger here. Okay, so up there I have a picture of Sogn Joon Ki to give you a visual of how Kaeden looks, I just thought he was too cute to resist!

This is my first story, and I thought why not a mermanxhumanboy because I haven't found much merman yaoi ones out there, lol! I have also thought of the basic story line because I actually have a twin -- not identical -- and we are super close, and I thought about what would happen if I lost her. (I know, I'm messed up, but aren't we all?) xD

Um, just so you know out there, people... this will most likely be mpreg, which means a dude getting pregnant. And yes, this is a gay book, so probably not as much straight than gay because gay boys are cute ~

Please stay with me the whole way through this, I love you all!

Well, then, without further ado, here we go!

-Puts on writing cap.

Let's go!

My name is Kaeden Summers, I am seventeen years old. I'm a junior at North Hill High School. I live in New York City, United States by the beach, no on the beach. I had a best friend. I used to live with that best friend, my twin brother. But he died in a car crash two years before today. Exactly two years, and yet, I can't seem to grasp the fact that my other half of myself is gone. His name was- or is- Zaeden. I adored him, following him everywhere he went like a lost puppy. He never minded, always welcomed me with a smile because he followed me, too.

Anyway, my therapist told me to not think so sadly of my twin-- to welcome his death and think of it as a new place for him, a place more 'pure.'

But how was I gonna do that?

I shivered as the chilly air whipped my dark hair around, strands slapping my face and poking my eyes. I reached up to tuck my hair behind my ear and then tucked them back into my pockets sighing as I looked over to gaze out to the ocean. I smiled a little, noting how pretty it looked, it sparkled in the late hours of the day, pretty sparkles covering and dotting the water as the sun went down. I stopped walking, my clammy hands stuffed into the pockets of my blue hoodie.

Today I plan on jumping into that water and embrace darkness itself, as dramatic as that seems.

I looked over to a tall cliff in the slight distance, huffing as I began to march my way over, slowly walking, though to take my time to admire the glowing neon lights on the street in the distance, too. Even though I may want to die, I still will miss small things like that. I tried to notice the smallest, yet prettiest things as I practically walked into the opened arms of death himself.

It didn't take long to approach the cliff, maybe ten minutes. I breathed heavily in chill weather as I trudged up the hill, I guess what my parents said about being more in shape really was true. I am not fit for doing this at all.

But I'm doing it anyway.

When I reached the edge I paused, just looking down at the water. I watched as the wild waves lapped up on the cliff, licking around edges and crashing back into the ocean. I frowned. It looked like it would hurt to jump in, but I didn't come here to just chicken out and go back home. Subconsciously, I felt myself slide my hoodie off, unzipping it to leave some evidence I was here. I clenched my fist and back up away from the edge of the cliff and threw my hoodie down on the earthy ground before squeezing my eyes shut.
