"Layla has lung cancer."

He says looking at his feet.

I stand there staring at him.

I fall to the ground and sit there. With my head in my hands crying.

"Daddy?" I heard my little girl's soft innocent voice say. I quickly wipe of my tears, take a deep breath and stand up.

"Hi sweetie." I say smiling at her.

"Hey dad, am I gonna be ok?"

I don't know how to reply. I don't want to freak her out right now but she mends to now.

"Yes, we'll talk about that later"

"Ok. Can I have some breakfast I'm starving." She said hopefully.

"Of course I'm on it." I say as I head out the room.

I go down to the cafeteria and on my way I see a guy in one of the rooms that looks an awful lot like the guy who dropped a note next to Layla the other day. I look even closer and when he turns his head and I can see his full face I know it's him.

I keep walking wondering who he is and why he's here.

I get Layla eggs, toast, and orange juice, and he's back to the room.

"Thanks dad." She said taking the tray and digging in. She defiantly has something in common with Niall....eating.

Then Layla's phone beeps. She picks it up and reads it.

"Who's it from?" I ask wondering if its that guy.

"Um his name is Bryan, I met him at the mall the other day."

"Is he the one who gave you the note?" Ally jumped in.

"Ya" she said blushing.

"So are you guys dating?" I asked her confused.

"Um actually he just asked me out."

"We'll reply than don't wanna keep a guy waiting." I say laughing.

She smiles her biggest smile and starts typing.

-Layla's POV

After I said yes to Bryan we texted for a while.

<hey I saw your dad here a little bit ago.>

Wait. He was at the hospital?

<why are you at the hospital>

I asked him guessing it was a family member.

<umm I have lung cancer and last night I coulding breath. Wbu?>

I stare at his text.

<oh my gosh I just found out I have lung cancer, and I had the same thing happen last night.>

I pressed send shocked.

I can't believe me and Bryan have the biggest thing in common.

Will we die?

Oh no.

I might die.
