I couldn't believe what I just heard. I froze, not sure what to do or say. I waited 16 years to feel the love a family is suppose to give you, and now I'm getting it? Why all a sudden? I must have been spaced out for a long time because Nanny called my name.
"Emily dear, they're here. They would like if you looked at them." I was almost afraid to look up and see what was before me. I slowly tilted my head up and clenched Stella close to my chest, as if she'd protect me. The woman was short, with long blonde hair and blue eyes. She was gorgeous and looked so young. She looked like she was still in her 20's and wore a short, tight black dress with black high heels. Her makeup was applied to her face so perfectly. I looked over at the man which looked older. He wasn't the best looking either. He didn't have much hair on his head and his face wrinkled in some places. He wore a black tuxedo to match the woman. His tie was a bright red and he was holding a brown briefcase in his right hand. What was this beautiful woman doing with a guy like this? The woman seemed uncomfortable, like she was forced to be happy.
"Emily, this is the Laqquits." They all looked at me and I was still so lost in my head. The man walked up to me and held out his hand.
"I'm Lucius, it's a pleasure to finally meet you Emily." He smiled wide and I shook his hand as firm as I could. His hand was warm and he gave me this comforting feeling. He then turned around to look at the woman. "And this is my beautiful wife, Paris." She forced a small smile and avoided eye contact with me. She may be beautiful, but was quite rude. He then spoke again.
"You should gather your things, sweetheart. We are so excited to show you your new room! Right hunny?" He looked at Paris. She nodded and looked away.
I looked up at him and nodded. "Yes sir." I quickly got up and walked back to my room, my heart was racing. I wasn't sure if I should be excited or nervous. I pulled out the suitcase from under my bed and stuffed my small amount of clothes inside. I looked at Stella and kissed her little fuzzy forehead and placed her inside. I then promised her, "I'll be back, don't be afraid." I then closed it. I walked back into the room and the man and woman were sitting at Nanny's desk filling things out.
"Um, I'm ready." I stood in the doorway, my hand tightening around the handle of my suitcase.
Lucius looked at me, with his warm, welcoming smile. He then walked towards me. "Then lets get going, shall we?" He wrapped his arm securely around my shoulders and begin to guide me down the hall. Paris following behind. I didn't know how to feel. Only seconds ago I thought I'd be stuck here my whole life, and now I'm being escorted to my new home. I was overwhelmed with emotion.
We arrived at their black Cadillac. Lucius opened the back door for me and I hesitated a bit before crawling in. The car had a new car smell, which I loved. I quickly put my seat belt on and hugged my suitcase to my chest as Lucius and Paris got in. "Ready?" Lucius looked at me through his mirror. I looked back at him, feeling a smile spread across my lips, I then nodded. "Yes sir."
As we pulled away, I watched the Orphanage get smaller and smaller. "We made it Stella..." I whispered softly to my suitcase with Stella inside, watching my horrible childhood disappear forever.

"Emily, sweetheart. We're home." I was awoken by Lucius's calming voice. I blinked a few times before his face was no longer blurry.
"You had a long day, let me carry you inside." He reached over and unbuckled my seat belt, slowly tucking his arms under my thighs. "Put your arm around my neck sweetie." I followed his orders, tiredly. My eyes became heavy again as he lifted me into his arms. My grip around my suitcase grew weak and Paris took it. I almost tried fighting to stay up, but I trusted Lucius would keep it safe. Both my arms were now wrapped around his neck, falling asleep as he curried me into the house. The last thing I remember was feeling the soft material underneath me and falling into a deep sleep.
