Pastel pinks filled the sky as day mingled with night in a dance of colors. Messy, sunshine colored hair attached to a small boy was ruffled by the wind. His eyes were a golden yellow with a very light violet hue directly below. They were just as bright and hopeful as a morning sunrise.
The boy, uncharacteristically calm, was as pale as the snow on the ground - save for his rosy pink nose due to cold. His knees were scraped and bruised, legs covered in band aids. Very light freckles dotted across his nose and cheeks. He wore a light green and mis-buttoned shirt under a very large coffee colored sweater that engulfed his small body and reached to his knees.
Across the play ground, hidden behind the slide, sat another boy, hair as dark as the night. This boy's eyes were a moonlight gray color that matched his monotone and rude attitude. He spied on the blonde from afar.
How was he so calm? Normally the kid in question was as jittery as possible. coffee in one hand and a twitch in each eye. So how could he ever be this still?Sunshine turned to Moonlight.
Beautiful golden met stone grey. They were petrified in each others gaze for a split second that seemed like an eternity.
"Craig..?" The boy made of sunshine asked softly in a voice that the boy made of moonlight - Called Craig - didn't even seem to recognize.
"Uh.." Craig looked away, avoiding the Sunlight's curious gaze. "Hey, .."
The boy of sunshine bit his lip and stepped off the swing. "H-...hi" he stuttered, staying still but still facing Craig. A bit tense, and surprisingly not too jittery, he walked closer. Slowly. Cautiously.
"Y-you're not gonna fight me again,, right?" Craig rolled his eyes, this was fifth grade for gods sake, the fight they had so long ago was in third.
"No" his nasally , bored voice tuned in with slight annoyance.
The blonde nodded and sat down in front of Craig.
But still, a question burned in the back of Craig's mind though he didn't care to show it. He just needed to play it cool, do his best to ask why he was so calm in a not rude way. "Aren't you usually, like- on Meth or some shit" wait that's not how he meant it-
Sunshine almost gasped, look of pure shock on his porcelain face. "Je-Jesus christ- I-I'm not o-on Meth!" His soft voice rose to a higher pitch. Craig sighed and cut him off before he could speak again
"I know dude-" he paused "just- why are you suddenly so-" Craig gestured to all of the blonde who had once again calmed himself.
It took him a moment before the boy of sunshine just shrugged.
"The sunset, I guess. I come out here to watch it sometimes. It's calming."
"Hm" Craig only grunted in response, looking out into the sky that started to get darker. Stars freckled the sky, similar to the shorter male's pale face.
Craig personally thought that all those freckles just had to be fallen stars. How else could this kid look so nice? Like, almost better than the night sky? He must be apart of it was all Craig could think. Though, Tweek did seem to be more of a sunshine kinda kid.
"Your name is Tweek, right?"
Sunshine -Called Tweek- narrowed his eyes in suspicion. "Yeah.." Tweek sat up straighter. "You don't talk to anyone without flipping them off." He paused " 'Specially spaz's like m-me. Why are you even-"
"Because I'm curious.. I don't understand you." Craig cut him off, thinking a moment before speaking again "You're interesting. And I like your freckles."
This made Tweek's face twist in confusion. "Me? I-Interesting?" pink blossomed on his cheeks and he looked away.
A prominent and semi-uncomfortable silence spread over the two boys and Craig looked to the blonde, straight faced. "Wanna come over to my house and watch Red Racer with me?"
Ever since then, Craig Tucker and Tweek Tweak were inseparable. But that was also, only the beginning.
