"Audreeey" The words drawn out and delivered with a whiny tone. Said deliverer flipped upside down in her chair and flopped her arms on the ground. "When do we get to leeeeeeeave, it's nearly daaaark"

"Jeez Ronnie, calm down" Audrey said, crossing her arms and blushing slightly "I need to finish setting up the lights and props and things. We should be leaving soon"

"We've been here for an hour Audrey, staying this long after school is crazy" Ronnie said flatly before sliding down to the floor and looking up to see her girlfriend standing above her glaring a bit but still blushing and offering a hand. Ronnie took it and hauled herself up, sitting on the chair again. Flicking the side of her leg impatiently she watched Audrey walk back and pull herself onto the stage again to work with the cables.

After what seemed like another hour to Ronnie, Audrey finally stood up, brushed off her jeans and announced that everything seemed to be in order. Ronnie jumped from her chair and bolted from the room, Audrey letting out a retort and peal of laughter and leaping from the stage to join her.

Audrey quickly pulled ahead, her strawberry/ginger hair flowing behind her and Ronnie still giggling and they headed for the big double doors out of the school. Audrey reached the doors first and waited for Ronnie to catch up giving her an arm to lean on as she doubled over to pant and complain about her short legs.

Pushing the doors open, they walked hand in hand down past the bike racks towards the street. Suddenly Ronnie stopped, pulling on the back of Audrey's shirt and pausing her footsteps to turn back and listen.

"Ronnie? Wha-"

"Phsshh" She replied, pushing a finger to Audrey's lips to shush her. "Do you hear that?"

"Hear what Ron" Audrey whispered exasperatedly. Ronnie didn't answer and instead let go of Audrey's shirt and sneaked up to the school building to peer around a corner. She turned back and motioned to Audrey frantically, eyes wide. Audrey jogged over and took in the scene for herself.

Three of the school's biggest jocks were cornering two boys against the wall of the school. One of the boys was wearing a dress which was obviously the main subject of ridicule, however he was acting completely indifferent and was standing in front of the other boy protectively and holding his hand firmly. The other boy was sporting bright lavender hair as well as a bruise on the cheek and was glaring fiercely at the jocks from behind his protector.

Ronnie's hands began to shake and before Audrey could stop her had thrown herself forward, shoving one of the jocks over into the others which as much strength as she had, which happened to be quite a bit. Audrey ran in and grabbed the dress-wearing boy's hand, dragging him and the other boy behind her as they tore around the building and headed to the street. Audrey paused to let Ronnie catch up but as soon as she reached them they were all being ushered forward by Ronnie who was laughing breathlessly.

"Go! Go! They're right behind us, come on" She screamed and took the lead. The small ragtag group sprinted forward across the street. Audrey could feel the adrenaline rush through her bones and her heart jump in her throat. The jock's shouting grew louder and Ronnie swerved to the side and ran up through the alleyway between two houses.

Audrey and the boys followed as Ronnie jumped the fence into someone's backyard and kept running. Audrey let out a laugh at the ridiculousness of the situation and jumped over herself, turning to help one of the boys over.

After quite a time of running they all finally came to a rest about four blocks down, all of them laughing hysterically and panting like racehorses. The boy wearing the dress was the first to straighten up. "Ah, hi, I'm Michael, this is Hunter" He said, gesturing to the boy over his shoulder who was lying flat on his back on the sidewalk breathing heavily and fumbling with something under his shirt. Ronnie looked at Michael a second before taking his hand and shaking it. "I'm Ronnie, this is Audrey" she said, still a bit breathless. Audrey blushed and waved, taking a step closer to Ronnie.

Michael suddenly seemed to notice Hunter panting and ran over kneeling down next to him, "Oh, shit right, Hunter you doin okay man?"

Hunter huffed and sat up "I'm good, I'm good" Michael didn't look convinced and he made Hunter promise something that the girls couldn't hear but figured it wasn't much of their business anyways.

Michael helped Hunter to his feet and faced the girls again. "Anyways, thanks for the help, we'd probably have gotten our asses handed to us if you didn't show up"

"Hey no problem" Ronnie replied "I would have punched their faces in if they had even tried!"

Audrey laughed "You shoved them pretty hard anyways"

Hunter let out another little laughing huff "Yeah! did you see their faces?! I thought they were going to run from you!"

Michael perked up and turned to face Hunter "Hey you don't have anything planned tonight right?"

"Heh, no" Hunter replied. Michael grabbed Hunter's hand and whipped back around to the girls. "Hey do you want to go for slushies!" He asked excitedly, before blushing and rubbing the back of his neck "I mean, if you're free"

"We'd love to!" Said Ronnie jumping at the idea "All I was planning to do tonight anyways was play video games with this dork over here" She added, rolling her eyes and gesturing at Audrey.

Audrey crossed her arms and stuck her tongue out, Hunter giggling as they headed off down the street in the direction of the closest Sonic.
