- prologue -
WHEN I TOLD HER that I liked her hair, she told me that she did it out of hatred.
WHEN I ASKED HER WHY, she answered me with he liked my long hair, so i cut it short and walked away.
WHEN I FOUND HER AGAIN AND TOLD HER that I didn't care about the reason, that I still liked her hair either way, that it made me want to kiss her for threehundredsixtyfive days, she looked at me with those eyes and smiled at me and said you're cute, brendan. and leaned over and kissed me.
it was a quick peck, but for the rest of the night all i could think about was her rosy perfume and her strawberry soft lips and her bright eyes and her tender but awfully raw voice mixed with the scent of beer and fresh mint.
and i had thought that if people were dying and the sky was burning down and my lungs were about to collapse, the last thing i would be thinking about was paula.
