Growing up in the small city of Vernon,California, I never got the "golden opportunities" as other kids my age. My mom died eight years ago of a heroin overdose. My brother and I were seperated when I was only six, and none of my family showed much interest in me. It hurt being that young and not having anyone to love you. How many tears can you shed before your eyes are completely watered out?
I learned later in life to use my tears and utilize them for motivation. At only 17 years old, I met the girl of my dreams. Her name was Sapphire Franklin. We remained together for five years before we had our first and only child Zahir. I always told myself that I'd protect him and let him know he'd have the limitless love I never got the chance to experience. That's exactly what I gave him, until the day I never got to see him again.
