Annabeth's POV

"O'Iris, Goddess of the rainbow, show me Chiron."

Fear sweeps through me as I wait for the image to come through. The only person I have spoken to since I ended things with Percy is Thalia. She is great to talk to as she will NEVER bring up the topic of boys, as they are out of bounds for her.

Thalia is a Huntress, she will live eternally unless she dies in battle. But to be immortal she had to swear of love with any males.

Suddenly an image appears through the mist. I can see Chiron in his office surrounded by his terrible music. I can hear it blasting from a speaker, he doesn't seem to notice me.

"CHIRON!" Screaming over the amplified sound, I attempt to get his attention. It works.

"Annabeth?" His deep brown eyes are filled with a mixture of confusion and happiness. He turns the ghastly music off, "Is that you, my dear?"

"Yes Chiron, it is me"

"I have missed seeing you. How is college?"

"It is amazing! The amount of things I have learned... I have great ideas for things I can build for camp half-blood! I am not sure whether to do a Greek style temple or a Roman one in honour of the Romans. I have a project I am working on now and it is about the differences in Roman and Greek architecture. I am so happy here." With a smile I finish my long speech. Percy used to always say that I spoke too much, but I could tell he loved it. In the background of his office I see a photo of me and Percy on his birthday, the day we became a couple. Slowly my eyes tear up.

"Annabeth, dear, what is wrong?"

"I... I miss... being with you... being at camp. I didn't think... that... it would be this bad." In-between sobs I try to speak.

A familiar voice calls from outside, "Hey you old horse! We need you at archery."

Then that person walks into the office. Leo.

Seeing me in the image he gasps and a huge grin sweeps over his face. "Annabeth! Percy will be so happy to see you... wait what? Nope, why are you here. Are you trying to make him cry again? It is cruel to make a man cry, big men don't cry."

"Oh gods Leo." Now I am unsure whether I should smile or cry more. Ughhh confusion!

"Leo please don't tell Percy..." pleading Leo was not what I planned to do today. But this is the position I put myself in and I would be unwise to try and ignore the hurt I have caused. I need to try and not reopen old wounds.

"Alright. But I can't keep secrets." 

"Really? Cause I remember you kept a secret from us for a very long time when you fricken died then came back! But the connection is breaking, I have to go. Bye, I will call soon!"

The connection died. 

I don't know whether to be happy or sad.

I don't know what to feel.

I'm empty and somehow I feel this warm feeling in my chest. 

The same warm feeling I used to get when being around Percy.

But Percy and I are done. 

I need to let go.

I will let go.
