Am I Still Dreaming?

I yawn and roll over as an arm tightens around my waist, I don't think much of it since I was still half asleep and it happened to be one out of two times that I had gotten a dreamless sleep full of empty bliss. I was looking forward to going back to it. So instead of questioning the warmth beneath me or the arm wrapped around me, I snuggled deeper into the warmth and allowed the arm to gently tug and anchor me to the warm body. Warm breath stirred my hair lulling me back to sleep as I listened to the calming rhythm of a human heart beneath my ear.

"Skye" his deep melodic voice whispers in my ear as I sleep "Skye, wake up" I shake my head and mumble incoherently about needing sleep and burry my face deeper into his chest. I feel his chest rumble slightly as he chuckles "Skye come on babe w-

ake up" I groan and burry my face into his chest again "mumph" it was supposed to come out as a 'no' but my voice was muffled. He chuckles again and shakes my shoulders lightly. I let a small whine "Ty let me sleep." He stops chuckling and I can feel him stiffen under me, I look up with concern "Ty? What's wrong?" He looks down at me in amazement for a moment before he seems to snap out of some daze. In a second he's on his feet and I'm taking a face plant into the dirt again.

I let out a loud annoyed groan as I sit up, I blink and take in my surroundings. I'm in the cave again which means I'm awake. I nod to myself and yawn, standing up and walking to the cave entrance. I stretch out like a cat and smile to myself deciding to go for a run. "You called me Ty." I freeze at his statement and turn around to see Tyler standing behind me staring at me. I nod slowly "Yeah Serenia said it would be okay to call you that didn't she?" He nodded but his eyes never left mine. "Really?" He asks as he steps towards me "Yes" I answer and he takes two more steps towards me until we're face to face. "Are you sure Skye?" I nod and answer without thinking "Yes Ty I am" he grins down at me and I frown in confusion at what I just said.

A sharp pain stabs through my brain making me reach up and place a hand at my forehead. I look back at him for a brief second. He called me Skye... "Am I still dreaming?" He frowns down at me with a look of concern and shakes his head as he reaches up and takes my hand "No Skye you're not" he says as he strokes my cheek gently. This isn't happening. This isn't real I step back out of his reach "My names Zero." He frowned at me, looking deep into my eyes as if he were looking for something, I almost hoped he'd find it, in my eyes. He shook his head tiredly "Fine" he said. As he turned his back on me and walked away I stood there staring after him wondering why, each step he took felt like another blow to my breaking heart.

Skye

My heart broke as the door to the roof slammed shut behind me. I love him with everything in me but I needed to find myself, I needed to learn how to fight for myself instead of hiding behind others simply because I didn't want to hurt anyone. I used to joke about being a lover not a fighter but I realize now that being a lover will get me killed. I know I would be dead if it weren't for my friends who fought so that I could be a lover. Kyran died protecting me and Serenia spent every breath she had before they captured her trying to get me to safety, even with a broken heart as the lifeless body of her best friend, the man she loved lay on the floor.

I wanted to cry at how pathetic I was but I knew there was no time for that. Serenia was being tortured and experimented on right now and I knew as vast and limitless our minds were it was easy to get lost in them and lose our minds. I had to find her now before they killed her or she went insane. Serenia is strong but I don't know if she can hold out long when it comes to her mind, not when her heart is broken, not when they ammunition like the man she loves being dead and in their possession. I had to do something.

Zero

I blinked away the vision and wiped the tears away. I don't know what's wrong with me but the visions have come more and more frequently. I sigh and look up to see both Tyler and Serenia standing there watching me. I don't look either of them in the eyes I just turn around and lean against the cave wall. "Z! Z!" Nate shouts running towards me I laugh and watch as he comes running towards me "what's up kid?" I ask as I ruffle his hair, he frowns at me and shakes his head stubbornly "I'm not a kid!" I laugh and give him a serious look "Sure you are. I'm a kid too ya know." He looks up at me and smiles but then hides it with a serious look of his own "Well I'm not!! I protected Tara ya know."

I smile and try my best to hide the guilt I feel for not being with them to protect them myself. "Oh really? And did Tara give you a proper thank you?" His cheeks grow bright red and his eyes immediately shoot to the ground. I smirk at him but he just turns and darts away with a stuttered "I-I g-gotta g-go" I laugh at his retreating form and lean my head against the cave wall once again. Nate always managed to brighten my mood somehow.
