I watched as the troublesome Potter ran off to find her siblings.
I wondered why a Potter would want to be friends with me. A Malfoy.
We were from different houses, I'm Slytherin and she's a Gryffindor. It just doesn't mix.
Not to mention our family rivalry. Starting with my grandfather and James Potter, then my father and Harry Potter and now my brother, Scorpious and all the Potter siblings.
I can not be friends with Jasmine. She isn't even a pureblood.
I thought of this as I walked back to the castle and to the Slytherin Dungeon. The halls were empty except for a couple roaming students. I took a few detours instead of heading straight to the dungeon. Actually more than a few I walked around the castle until it was late at night. I saw Albus Potter as I walked near the Gryffindor common room.
"What are you doing Malfoy?, its after hours." He asked, rudely.
"Well obviously I was going to blow up the Gryffindor common room." I smirked, of course I would be expelled if I did such a thing but Potter's can't take jokes.
"I don't find your threats funny, you better get to your common room before I report you to Headmistress McGonagall." He answered with a serious tone that made me wonder how he could be so uptight.
I wonder if they were all this strict. Especially with Jasmine. It made me appreciate Scorpious and Lucius. We always played harmless (and harmful) pranks on eachother and joked mischievously. I would hate to be a Potter, always having to be perfect. With us Malfoys it was quite different. Grandfather was strict with us too but we always had our fun. People never usually see the side of us Malfoys where we laugh and have fun. Where we love and care for eachother. They just think of us as heartless, pure blood, know it alls.
"Will you now?" I asked him giving him my smirk, daring him to turn me in.
"What's going on here?" A voice I knew all too well said.
"Your sister here was roaming the halls and threatening the Gryffindor common room." Albus turned to Scorpious who stood tall and fearfully.
"I was only joking, jeez Potter can't you take a joke?" I defended.
"You shut it?" Albus said to me then faced Scorpious and said "You better tell your sister to watch her mouth, Malfoy." I hated how he couldn't tell it to me, he had to tell my brother to scold me.
"I'll handle her Potter, shouldn't you be in your common room though? Don't lecture my sister about being out after hours when you're doing the same thing." I quietly smiled, well I don't smile I smirk, at how my brother defended me.
"I was just heading in, Goodnight Malfoy." Albus said sarcastically and turned around disgusted.
Scorpious turned to me once Albus was gone.
"What do you think you're doing near Gryffindor Headquarters?" He said pulling me towards the Slytherin Dungeon.
I didn't answer knowing he was probably going to continue lecturing.
By the time we got to Slytherin common room, he had gone on a whole lecture about how bad the Potters and Weasleys were and how I should never interact with them. I bet Jasmine would hate to hear that. He sent me to my dorm still lecturing me about "our family rivals".
In my bed, I stared out my window at the moon. Wondering what my brother and father would think if I actually became friends with Jasmine Potter. I know they would hate it, but would they say anything? That I didn't know. But I did know for sure my grandfather, Lucius Malfoy, would see me as a menace to the family. But did I care? I'm not sure of that either. All I knew is that Jasmine Potter was a troublesome girl who I had no interest in being friends with. And with that I fell asleep.
