I'm walking through the crowded hallways at school heading towards my locker when I run into my best friend Olivia. "Hey Liv," I smiled as I continued to walk to my locker. "Hey," she smiled walking with me. I noticed she already had her bag around her neck. I opened my locker and shoved everything in there grabbing my book bag putting my agenda, folder, and sketch book in it. "So Ivy, Do you have a date to prom?" Liv asked me. "Nope." I replied resting my bag on my shoulders closing my locker and locking it. "I heard Colby wants to ask you," she smirks. "It's probably just a rumor. He's one of the hottest guys in school. There are way prettier girls around." I commented. "I believe it actually. Do you ever see the way he looks at you?" She asked me. I thought for a second. I never actually look at him as much as other girls do. "Whatever. Do you have a date?" I asked. She nodded. "Yeah. It's Derek from my cousins school." She replied. "Cool. Well I better get walking so I can get home and get my homework done," I told her. She nodded as I walked off.

I was about to the sidewalk when I heard someone running up behind me. I turned around to see Colby running towards me. "Hi Colby," I smiled sweetly. "Hey Iv," he smiled back standing still once he reached me. "How are ya?" I asked him trying to make a conversation. "I'm almost perfect," he replied. "Almost?" I questioned. He nodded. "Yeah. There's only one way to make it perfect," he smirked. "And what is that?" I asked. "Will you uhh... Go to prom with me?" He asked me hesitantly. I blushed while nodding. "Yes Colby. I will," I replied. He chuckled softly. "Really?" He asked. I smiled continuing to nod. "Of course Colby." I said getting on my tippy toes and kissing his cheek. "Now it's perfect." She smiled at me. "I have a question for you now. Why did you chose me out of all the girls that attend Beck High?" I asked him. "Honestly it's because I've always had a huge crush on you. And you're beautiful," he smiled widely. "As much as I'd love to continue talking, I can't. I have to get home," I told him blushing deeply. "Fine," he said playfully pouting. I gave him one last kiss on the cheek then I walked down the sidewalk towards my house.

I got home and I walked inside to see my mom sitting at the island on her laptop. "Hey Darling, how was school?" She asked me. "Perfect." I said sitting at the table in the next room getting my homework out. I watched as mom stood up with her laptop and sat down across from me. "How was it perfect?" She smiled at me. "I got asked to prom," I smiled back starting my homework. "So I'm guessing you changed your mind about not going?" She asked. "Of course." I replied. "After you finish your homework I'll take you dress shopping." Mom told me. I nodded smiling. After a half an hour I finished my homework. "Ready?" Mom asked me. I nodded and slipped my shoes back on.

*At the dress store in the mall*

I separate from my mom in the store and look around at the dresses. I haven't found the dress yet. It's harder than I thought. "Ivy!" I heard my mom exclaim. I walked over to her to see her holding up a beautiful red dress. "Oh my god." I said grabbing ahold of it. "You like it?" Mom asked. "Of course I do. It's perfect." I smiled grabbing it. "Go try it on Sweetie." Mom told me. I nodded and walked to the dressing room. I tried it on and it fit perfectly. I smiled for a minute or two then I took it off putting my clothes back on. I put it back on the hanger and walked to my mom. "Does it fit?" She asked me. I nodded smiling happily. "Okay. Lets pay for it then go shop for shoes and accessories." Mom smiled back. "Okay," I agreed while walking up to the register with mom. I set the dress on the counter and mom paid for it. The cashier gently put the dress in the bag and handed it to me giving mom the change. We walked out of the store and walked to a different store than sold shoes and accessories. We bought a pair of heels, a necklace, earrings, bracelets, and mom even got me a new nose ring and belly button ring.

*Back at Home*

I walked upstairs and put all of my prom stuff in a safe place then put it my belly button ring and nose ring. I sat down on my bed and slipped my phone out of my back pocket and started texting Olivia. "I got a dress!!" I texted her. I laid down and rested my head on my pillow waiting for a reply. "Really?!?!" She texted back. "Yeah" "Can I come over after school tomorrow and stay? I'll bring my dress so we can meet up with Derek then go to Colby's house before Prom." She asked. "Sure. My mom won't care. But I gotta go." I texted. "Okay bye." "Bye,". I plugged my phone in and set it on my night stand. I got a pair of sweat pants, undergarments, and a pink tank top and walked into my bathroom. I took a quick shower and changed into my clean clothes. I put my hair up into a bun and walked into my bedroom. I shut off my bedroom light and laid down in bed underneath the covers. I grabbed my phone and I had 10 messages. 9 from Liv and 1 from Colby. I unlocked my phone and opened Colby's message. "Hey". "Hi" I messaged back. I then opened Olivia's messages. "Hey" "Ivy" "Ivy" "Hello" "Answer me!" "Ivy" "R u up" "Ivy Amaya" "Ivy Amaya Haynes" "Text me". "Damn," I said to myself. "Sorry I was in the shower" I texted back. I received another text from Colby. "Can I pick you up tomorrow for school?" "Sure, of course you can." I replied. "Okay. Where do you live again? Haha" I giggled a bit then texted him back. "4889 Steward Rd. My house kinda looks like a barn." "Alright. I'll see you in the mornin then." He replied. "Okay bye." "Bye." After a few minutes Olivia messaged me back. "Ha whatever." "What did you want?" I texted her. "Are we walking home together tomorrow?" she asked. "Of course. Colby is driving me to school tomorrow morning." I replied. "Awe. Okay I' going to bed. NIGGHTTTT!" "Night," I said locking my phone and setting it back down on my night stand. I closed my eyes and finally but slowly, I feel asleep.

The next morning my mom woke me up by gently shaking me. I smiled at her as I woke up slowly sitting up. "Am I taking you to school today?" She asked me. "Nope, Colby's picking me up. Oh yeah. Is it okay if Liv comes over after school?" I asked her. "Of course she can." Mom replied walking out of my bedroom shutting the door behind her. I stood up out of bed and walked to my closet. I grabbed out a maroonish shirt and a floral skirt. I quickly changed and put on some accessories. I grabbed my sunglasses and my little bag and shoved them in it. I slipped on some sandals and walked into my bathroom and brushed my hair out leaving it natural.  I quickly did my make up then sprayed a little bit of perfume on. I walked downstairs and grabbed a cereal bar. I quickly ate it as I heard Colby pull up to the house. "Shit." I mumbled as I noticed I forgot my phone. I ran up the stairs and grabbed my phone slipping it in my bag while running back downstairs. Colby was just standing at the end of the stairs waiting. "Hi," I smiled. "Hello," He smiled back.

*At school*

Colby and I got out of his car and he walked over to me. He held his hand out to me and I grabbed it. We walked inside holding hands. He walked me to my locker and waited for me. "Colby!" I heard someone yell. I continued grabbing my books and everything then shut my locker turning around to see Colby and his friend Sam. "Hi Sam," I said. "Hey Ivy." He smiled at me. "So. You finally asked her?" Sam asked Colby. "Obviously," He replied. "I'm gonna go find Olivia. I'll talk to you later." I told Colby. "Okay," He said kissing my cheek. I walked off looking for Liv. I found her in the ladies room crying. I rushed over to her and kneeled down on the floor next to her. "Livia, what's wrong?" I asked worriedly. "Nothing. All I'm saying is I'm not going to prom." She cried. "Did Derek ditch you?" I asked. "Yeah..." She nodded. "Okay. Clean yourself up and stay right in here. I'll be back." I said standing up and walking back towards Sam and Colby. "Sam." I said tapping his shoulder. "Yeah," he said turning around to face me. "Do you have a date for prom?" I asked him. He shook his head. "Ask Olivia," I said. He nodded as I walked away. I walked back to Olivia and told her to go walk the halls. So she did. Soon enough she ran into Sam and he asked her to prom. Perfect.

*the next night*
Sam, Olivia and I are sitting in his car as he drives us to Colby's house. I'm playing with my hands nervously. What if Colby doesn't like my dress. "Here," Sam said looking back at me. I nodded and stepped out of the car. I walked up to Colby's front door nervously and knocked. I stepped back as the door opened.

"Wow! Damn Ivy!" He smiled brightly. I laughed a little. I watched as he walked over to me with his arms wide open. I waited then hugged him tightly. "You look beautiful  Ivy," Colby whispered in my ear. "Thank you," I smiled.

The rest of the night Colby and I danced and he kissed me. He actually kissed me. Honestly the best night ever. It was the last prom. The last school dance ever. But it was an amazing night 😍
