Dawns POV

Happy happy birthday! To me to me to me!
I cheered silently in my head with a beaming smile on my face. Today, I was turning sixteen!
I skipped down the hallway while my friends were running behind me to catch up. I stopped when I saw a crowd of people pushing and yelling to see something on the wall.
I wander what it is?

Like a smart person would do in high school, I stepped to the side to prevent myself from getting pushed around.

"I- *pant pant
Regret.. *choke
Getting you 2 large sizes of the latte from starbucks.." May managed to gasp out.

"Really? I like the excercise!" Misty announced cheerfully.
May groaned. I giggled, and was about to respond when I was interrupted by the guys.

"Hi guys!" I exclaimed cheerfully. Before sending a glare towards Paul.
Stepping up to him, I poked my finger against his chest.
"Im in a good mood today. And you better not ruin it with your grumpy attitude!" I pouted.

"Happy birthday Dawn! "
I whipped my head around to see one of my best friends.
"Hi Gary!" I piped.
Once he got close enough, he gave me a bear hug, and handed over a small white gift box. With a purple ribbon bow on the top.

I slowly opened it.

I gasped, "Gary I-"

He stopped my by wrapping it around my neck, coming behind me, and clipping it on. It was a sterling silver necklace, with a small piplup charm that was outlined with crystals, rhinestones, and diamonds.

"This must have costed a fortune! I-"

"It doesnt matter! As long as you like it!" He flashed another smile and pulled me in for another hug. After breaking apart, I replied, "thanks.. Alot..
I love it."

He smiled, "See you in the BOTB! I'll be cheering for you! Oh, and in the singles too! I know you'll make it!"
He then turned to walk away.

"Wait what is BOTB?" I asked dumbfounded on what everyone was excited about.

"You haven't heard?" I whipped my head around to see Drew scoffing. "It stands for The Battle Of The Bands. Its where different bands compete against eachother to play 2-5 songs. The top two bands will choose a person from their team to go into the singles; Where they will have a competition. We dont know what the prize is, but it starts in April... 3 months from now."

Something in my brain clicked. Recalling back to when Gold showed us the message...
"Omg.."

"What?" The gang asked in unison.
