Mum disappearing. Dad getting drunk. Abuse. Swears. Bullies.

All of that leads up to me becoming a spy. A spy. I didn't know an academy full of spies even existed. But me, Sheila, becoming a spy? Like, I don't have physical skills, or just basic physical attack moves or stuff like that.

"Yes, a spy," Matt says. "S. P. Y. Spy!" Matt's talking to me like I'm a five year old. Like, really? Is that very necessary? Geez.

"I-I know that. I'm just surprised," I sass, crossing my arms over my chest. "I knew spies existed, but not an academy for spies. I thought spies were hired by the government in secret."

"Well, there really is an academy for spies. That you will be attending until you're old enough to live on your own," the so call 'Boss' explain.

Wait, am I forced to go to that place? I wonder.

"Don't worry, girly," Haley tells me. "You'll meet awesome new people who has suffered like you did. You'll learn how to use weapons, which is Matt's favourite part about all of this."

"It is! Like, who doesn't like shooting bad guys with guns?" Matt explains, smiling dreamily, probably imagining him shooting the bad guys.

My heart melted. He looks so hot and handsome with that smile. Like he isn't even trying to smile. I wonder how it feels to smile so naturally. Last time I smiled naturally was when I turned six. The last time I saw Mum. Last time I saw my non-drunk Dad. My last time. Annnnddddd now my throat hurt from trying to contain my sobs. My eyes burns from trying not to let my tears go.

I have to stay strong, I thought, pinching my thigh  Stay strong, Shei, stay strong.

"Any Who! Let's show you around!" Haley chirps, grabbing my wrist, pulling my out the room.

-*^*-

Haley and I were walking down a thin, white hall, following Boss and Matt. But there's something that seems to be missing. Am I missing anything? I already know I have a scar on my eye. What else... What else? Just as we approached a big white door at the end of the hall, another door opened next to me. A tall, dark hair guy walks out of the room. He seems around Haley's age. He has brown, almost red eyes. Weird, I thought. Never saw someone with red eyes before, eexcept in movies, but that doesn't count.

"Hey babe!" The guy says to Haley as they share a gentle kiss.

Wait what now? I'm so confuse... Are they dating or something? I saw people making out before, AKA in my school, but this is different then rough kissing and shit like that. It seems... Sweet, gentle, full of love. But how can I possibly know? I never had a boyfriend or my first kiss. Why am I thinking about this now? I wonder, realizing what I'm thinking.

"Kids, do that on your own time, not during work hours," Boss snaps. Okay, I have a feeling I won't like her that much. Like, she gets mad just because a couple was simply kissing!

"Sorry, m'am," the guy says as if it's the most natural thing to say. I'm only assuming this, but he must of either heard this a bunch of times before or he's just cool.

Now that I took a closer look at him, he has a nice tan with really dark red hair. He's face has a big, scary scar across his face, to the right side of his face down to his chin. It's dark red, but seems like it's slowly healing.

"Sheila, meet Jordan, my boyfriend," Haley says after a long moment of awkwardness. "Jordan, meet Sheila, my new roommate." Jordan looks at me, which, honestly, frighten me. His dark red eyes pierced into my crystal blue one. He then flash a handsome smile.

"Well nice to meet you, Sheila," he says, as he shakes my hand. His hand was big and warm.

"Same goes to you, Jordan," I say, my face with no emotions. He lets go of my hand and grab Haley's hand.

"I'm going out for a bit, babe," he says, his voice sweet and gentle. "I'll be back soon."

"Okay! Don't get lost again!" Haley sang as Jordan walks away. I just realized that he was wearing a black muscle shirt with black jeans.

Just as we were about to continue, I hear a bark from the room Jordan just left from. I spun towards the door and Jesse came running out and jump into my arms. He licks my face happily while I laugh. I then let go of her and she fell next to my foot. She quickly got back up on her four paws and look at Haley, curiosity shines in her eyes.

"Awe! I just love your puppy!" Haley sighs, looking at Jesse, smiling softly.

Jesse then looks at Matt. Matt crouch down in front of her and scratches behind her ear. Jesse barks happily, her tongue sticking out of the corner of her mouth. A small smile tugged the corner of Matt's lips.

"You must love dogs," I silently murmur. Matt shrugs, looking up at me.

"Dogs usually don't like me," he explains. He looks back at Jesse. "But your dog is different. Letting me pet her like this." We all stayed silent for a moment while Matt rubs her belly.

"Okay! Back to business!" Boss says loudly, making all of us jump out of our skins.

Matt quickly stands up, pretending like nothing has happened just now. As we continue walking towards the big white double doors, Jesse follows us. Now, Matt was walking next to me and Haley next to Boss in front of us. I kept stealing glances at him. Jesse would bark at strangers, but for Matt, she acts like she would with me. Something's up with her. But I'll have to deal with it later. For now, I need to focus on the tasks in front of me. I know I swore before I would never become a spy (I was seven at the time) but now, I accepted that, this is my destiny. I was meant to become one. If Mum was here, she would tell me to follow my heart. That's what I'm doing now.

"Welcome to your new home, Sheila Morgan," Boss says, opening the double door. I took my first step towards my destiny, also known as the room behind the double doors.
