Eun Ji's POV

"Mom!"

"Yes dear?"

"My birthday's coming soon! I'm so excited!"

"Well I prepared the best party for you my dear!"

"Wow thanks mom!" I cheered. My mom kissed my forehead as she tucked me in for the night. "Goodnight birthday girl." She said and turned off the lights and left my room.

---

I woke up. Got out of my bed. And walked straight to the door. I was so happy for the day since it was my birthday. I reached the door and tried to open it.

It was locked.

"No go away!"

I hear my mom scream. I decided to keep quiet and look through the crack on my door. I saw my mom vanished and my father lying on the ground...

dead.

"Sis?" My younger brother woke up and rubbed his eyes. I didn't look at him and continue to examine the scene.

Suddenly a face appeared right before my eyes. The mysterious man banged the door. I took my baseball bat.

Me and my brother was a huge fan of baseball since our father plays baseball with us.

The man managed to open the door. He was wearing a clown mask. He raised up the knife and I hit his head with a baseball bat without hesitation. "Ji Hoon quick! Go downstairs and dial the police! Ask for help!" I told him and he did what he was told.

The man was waking up and grabbed my leg "you little brat!" He shouted. I hit him once again with the bat. I looked at the scene with horror in my eyes.

The floor covered with blood.

The baseball bat covered with blood as well.

A dead body infront of me.

I kneeled down with tears rolling down on my cheeks.

"Happy Birthday to me..." I said as I cried and heard the police coming in my house. My vision started to get blurry.

Then, I passed out.

•••

I woke up. It was all a dream.

No.

It was a memory.

I hugged my knees and cried. "I never wanted to remember that scene." I muttered to myself. "I'm a monster."

"Dude. Are you okay?"

I looked up to see my best friend, who just woke up. I nodded and smiled. I stood up and wiped away the tears on my cheeks. She sighed. "You look like a mess." She said. "Thanks for being honest." I smiled at her.

"Take a bath hobo." She said to me and tossed me my clothes.

It was a miracle how she's my best friend...

Yet my only friend...

But she witnessed all of those...

That terrible memory.
