TOPANGA'S

Maya took a deep breath before finishing the last problem on her homework.

Now homework wasn't maya hart's forte, per say. But let's just say she had to improve her homework; or farkle said she had to improve her homework. He had gave her this long speech about how education was important.

Partly because he didn't want to be alone when Lucas and Riley burst through door fighting about something stupid after their date.

They had been working on their homework and studying at this all afternoon at Topanga's. All of the them, well almost all of them were worried about finals the next week.

"I am done!" Maya sighed while closing her textbook.

"Maya Hart? Done with her homework? Finally? How long has it been since that's happened?" Zay smirked, knowing it would annoy her.

"Shut it Zay, I'm so exhausted." Maya jumped off of the stool and went behind the counter to grab herself another cup of coffee.

"Not as exhausted as your going to be after you help us settle Lucas and Riley's fight." Farkle mumbles annoyed and puts his feet on the counter.

"Is it Lucas or Riley that starts it?" The blonde as curiously; she held the cup of coffee tight in her hands and sat back down next to Farkle.

"It's mostly Riley." Zay says "As much as I love that girl she makes a big deal out of everything."

"Yeah." Farkle continues "The fights are mostly about little things like Lucas simply looking at girl."

Maya sighed, knowing this was going to be a tough one getting out of. She loved Riley, but it wasn't going to be easy convincing her to lay off a bit.

"Wait. Doesn't Riley tell you all of this? She's your best friend?" Zay asks.

The truth was she never really listened when Riley talked about her dates with Lucas. She never really liked her talking about him. It made her feel... Jealous? No, she couldn't possibly had feelings for hopalong. What is she kidding? She's liked Lucas ever since the subway, the campfire thing had been about a year ago and the feelings had 'died' she had told Riley. But they never really did.

"I never really listen. Okay? And don't even ask about it." The blonde said.

"Oh is Maya jealous?" Zay jokes

Before she could answer two arguing teens burst through the door. The three all groaned at once.

"Here we go again." Farkle says in despair

"Really Lucas? You think this is okay? I honestly can't believe you right now!" Riley said, she turned to face him angrily.

Lucas only sighed and shook his head, looking at the ground "I didn't do anything wrong Riley, I don't know what you're taking about." He had said through gritted teeth.

The brunette shook her head in disgust, "How could you not know! Cause you were sure eyeing that girl and talking to her a hell of a lot too!"

"You mean our waiter Riley?!" He shouted, "The one that is supposed to to talk to us to take our orders?"

"And the one you were making conversation with! You shouldn't be doing that on our date!" She shouted back.

"The whole reason I was eyeing that girl is because she looked familiar! And it turns out she was my old tutor for math back in the ninth grade, Lauren." He said, by now Lucas hands were balled into fists at his side. "So god forbid I talk to another girl other then you for once."

Riley looked down at her shoes, knowing she was wrong. She had never wanted this to happen to them, the two were perfect together.

"Um, do you guys mind waiting outside. We need to talk privately." She politely asked the other three, they nodded and walked out of Topanga's and sat on the bench.

"I'm sorry Lucas. I never wanted you to be upset at me, I just get jealous sometimes that's all." She looked up and smiled at him. "You're my boyfriend, my prince and I bring out the best in you. I just think this is working out anymore."

He looked at her, "I agree Riley, and I think we would be better off as friends."

Lucas didn't believe he had just admitted that, and it had took him awhile to realize how he really felt about Riley. Now he knew.

The brunette had been getting more protective of Lucas for the past few months. She had be really annoying, and Riley new that. But she was figuring stuff out, and had felt different for some reason about her and Lucas going on dates, holding hands.

They had never really been much of a pda couple, not that it mattered that much. But they were kindove platonic in a way.

The girl looked down at the ground again, she realized they would be very different now. Not Riley and Lucas couple, but Riley and Lucas. Friends.

"But you know we can still hang out together." Lucas said comfortably. He felt good about this.

"Yeah." She smiled. "I would like that."

The boy pulled her into a friendly hug, and they stayed like that for a couple of seconds before parting there separate ways home.

Riley and Lucas were just friends, and they were completely okay with that.
