Prologue △ Water

I believe this is never going to end. Right after one tsunami has swallowed a dozen of people and buildings, a new one begins. I don't know, how they do it, but I do know that nothing is gonna be left of this town except a big muddy junkyard, if they don't understand to stop this in time. And in time means right now.

Population of our town has gathered on a high hill to protect themselves of these unnatural big tsunamis, what our enemies are sending to us so generously. Everyone didn't make it up here though, 'cause the Capitol replied to our attack faster than we ever imagined.

Cries of pain hurt, even if they have been going on several hours by now. Every second someone loses their homes. And I don't mean just our district- the whole Panem has turned against the Capitol.

"We can't defeat Capitol, even with the power of thirteen districts", one desperate villager murmurs next to me. This attack have been going on far too long, why couldn't districts just surrender, or Capitol lost its power magically? Their superiority is so great that it makes me sick.

I close my eyes and try to imagine world without capitol. Right now I would be eating strawberries in the border of our district with my brother. We could pick up some flowers to out mom, maybe pill a deer, so we could have a nice dinner. Me and my brother can throw axe even in the dark.

I awake from my imaginations, when someone shakes me. I can still hear the cries of pain echoing in my head, so it takes for a moment, until I start to perceive his speak:

"The districts have given up."

A/N: A/N Hello everyone! So this is my first story here in Wattpad. I haven't get to known this site propely yet, so don't wonder, if I fumble something. Also english is not my native language, so there might be some weird grammar and stuff, but try not to care. I'd like some comments! Chapters are gonna be longer in the future, if I write with computer.
