Keyon woke me up a few hours ago for my shift. It was dawn now, day but still dark out. Time to get going,  I thought to myself.

"Hey, time to get up dork," I said in a rude tone as I threw something at him. He just groaned and rolled over.

I sighed and rolled my eyes, "he does this every fucking day... Can't he just wake up on the first wake-up call once!?"  I walked over to him and shook him violently. "Get up!" Nothing, he was being as stubborn as a brick wall. "HEY DORK! IT'S TIME TO GET UP!!!" I yelled. I didn't care if I attracted anyone, it was just another kill.

He jumped and fell off the make-shift bed.

"Priya, what's the big deal?" Again with this...

"It's time to go, idiot."

"But it's still dark out," he whined, "can't I sleep a little longer?"

"We get up this early every day! So no, you can't sleep longer!"

He groaned, "Can I at least have some coffee?"

I rolled my eyes and threw the coffee beans at him. "If you can make it yourself, then sure. You're lucky I found them while I was looking for supplies."

"Ugh, fine..." He grabbed the beans and crushed them up in the bag. I helped him out so we could leave faster and I started up a controlled fire. After I made it, I grabbed a water bottle from his pack and put it over a small pot over the fire. I

I grabbed my gun and stood watch as he put the boiling water in a pitcher with the crushed beans. He mixed them up and poured a cup.

"Priya, do you want some too?" I didn't usually drink coffee unlike Keyon, but it couldn't hurt to have some once in a while.

"You put the fire out, right?"

"Ya, ya. I did." I turned around and looked at him.

"Then fine, but just this once."

"that's what you said last time," he said jokingly as he poured me a cup.

"Well that was months ago!"

He laughed, "Whatever."

We drank our coffee and by the time we were done, the sun was up and it wasn't dark anymore.

I sighed, "Shit.... Hurry up and pack everything up, we're running late as it is. We have 10 minutes top to get a move on," I said as I polished my throwing-knives.

"Ok, mom," he sighed and started packing up.

In 8 minutes we were ready to go. We left quickly and moved. At this point, I had no idea how far away I was from where I was born. I could be in the same state I was born in, or I could be on the other side of the continent by now. Every day when we were on the move, we were either moving closer or further.

"Priya," I heard a voice say to me, interrupting my chain of thoughts. It was Keyon, "I've been meaning to ask you something."

"What is it?" I sounded a little annoyed, noticing it was starting to get dark out.

"Well, you know that I'm laid-back and nice and caring and-"

"What are you on about, Keyon?" I stopped walking and glared right at him, "What's your question?" I asked coldly.

"That's exactly what I'm talking about. Why do you always act so cold and heartless and emotionless and not caring?"

I glared at him for a few seconds then looked away. As I did, I saw a small, abandoned house. "We can rest here for the night." I went inside the building and sat down. This place was actually furnished, it would be the first time in 16 years that I'd be able to sleep on an actual bed.

"Don't get too comfortable, we're only staying until dawn." I checked out the rooms and in the bedroom, I saw someone sleeping in the bed. I grabbed one of my knives and stabbed him in a nerve in the neck so he wouldn't bleed. I grabbed his body and threw him outside. "There aren't a lot of people in this area, it would be alright is we didn't sleep in shifts." Trhe last time we did that, it was after we killed a huge group of Bill's army, clearing the area out.

"Oh come on, P, it's been too long since we've found an actual house with furnishing. We can't stay longer? I mean seriously, this area's abandoned. We deserve to stay here for a bit. And there's a coffee maker and creamer here!"

I sighed. He did have a good point, but abandoned or not it was dangerous to stay anywhere longer than a night. "Fine, but if we get in any danger, it's not my fault."

We unpacked our things and sat on the couch.

"Hey, you should get to bed. You woke up in the middle of the night and have been up all day." I looked at him.

"Fine. But wake me up at dawn."

"Alright, P." I rolled my eyes at that nickname and headed to bed.

Hey guys, so sorry for updating this really late, school's been in the way. And I will do my best to update Transcendence tomorrow, but I might not since I have a lot going on.

ALSO, the picture still isn't drawn by me but I did color her, and it's exactly what she looks like
