By the time I had arrived at the venue I was already and hour late. I slowly pulled up to the front gate station and was greeted by a employee depressed in a pair of tan khakis and a white collared shirt which had the words "Leventh Corp." Written on the upper left part of the shirt.
I quickly rolled down my window and waited for the man to greet me.
"Good afternoon Miss. What can I do for you today?"the man asked as he approached my car.
"Good afternoon. I am here for a meeting with Mr. Leventh. He and myself made prior arrangements this morning." I said handing over my ID and my license.
Taking them and looking over the sheets of plastic ad then swiftly handing them back and walking into the small glass building. A few minutes later he came out and gave final instructions before the rustic gates creaked inwards allowing me to pass through.
As i was pulling up to the front door i was once again greeted by another employee in which opened my door and escorted me to the foyer of the monstrous house and left me there to be greeted by the host.
As I stood there waiting I took in the décor. Redwood door with a stained glass panel above the door way. Oak floors with small granite tiles in various colors lining in to a design in which I could not figure out. Just i begun attempting to figure out I was interrupted by the sound of foot steps approaching behind me.
"Interesting isn't it?" A husk voice said a few feet behind my back.
"It is. Though I can not seem to figure out what it is." I said shifting so I can examine the fixture at a different angle.
"I myself can't seem to figure it out myself. It's said that only the purest of eyes can see the art." He said chuckling
"Interesting. I guess then it will have to remain a mystery." I snickered as i turned around to be met with a man in his early 60s. Mostly black hair but peppered with white. Approximately 6"1\2. Very well tailored. John Toronto i am guessing. Leather shoes. Gold watch. Probably passed down.
"Indeed. You must be Mrs. Anders." He said reaching out his hand for a shake.
"Indeed I am. You must be Mr. Leventh. Please excuse my rudeness and my tardiness. I became... um tangled up in work if you could say. " I said flashing a quick smile.
"It's alright. I can understand. We business people and busy people. I was afraid that you had gotten into an accident." He said chuckling while shaking my hand. " Im just glad you made it safely here."
"Thank you for being patient." I said
"Shall we move into a more quiet place so we can discuss my proposition. " He said setting his arm out so I can hold it.
I took his arm and he lend me to a large meeting room with a long pine table with plush seats all along the side. "Please sit." He said pulling a chair out from the table.
" Thank you." I said as i took my seat.
"Your very welcome." He said take a seat of his own. "Now down to business." Just as he sat a man came into the room bringing papers and setting them in front of me.
"Please take a couple of minutes to read thoroughly the contract." He said motioning towards the folder containing the contract.
After a few minutes passed I closed the folder.
"A job opportunity?" I said sliding the folder forward.
"Yes. As my company's personal agents for recruitment." He said placing his hands on the table
"It would be an honor. But I must say I also have other occupations." I said
"Hobbies I am guessing?" He questioned
"More of time killers." I briefly smiled.
"Well I will give you some time to think about this." He said sliding the folder to me.
"Thank you I will bring this to the attention of my advisors. From there I will contact you." I said taking the folder and standing.
"Please do and I shall await you answer." He stood as well and showed me out.
As soon as I got to my car I whipped out my cell and dialed Brazier.
".... hello?" He sounded like he just woke up.
"Hello. Brazier this is Mrs. Anders. I am calling to tell you to make room in my schedule for a emergency meeting with my advisors." I explained as i started the car.
" Ah um yes..... when would you like me to schedule it?" He said as attaching down the details.
"As soon as possible. Try some time this week. Once you have informed everyone please call me. That's all thank you." I quickly hang up my phone.
By the time I arrived at home it was already 6 in the afternoon.
Upon entering into my house I was greeted by Jeremy and two wine glasses.
"Thank God." I said relieved. Taking off my shoes I walked over reaching for a glass.
" May I interest you in some Le Macchiole Paleo Rosso 2000?" He said leading me into the kitchen.
"Please do." I said smiling and taking a seat at the bar.
"Long day? I was starting to worry that you weren't coming home." Jeremy snickered.
"You could say that. I was called into a meeting with Mr. Leventh." Placing my glass on the counter I unbutton my blouse just enough to be able to be comfortable.
"Wow. That's pretty big." He said sarcastically.
"He offered me to be his personal requirement company. Do know how big this is?" I said leaning back into my chair.
"Yeah yeah." Pouring whine in my glass as he sighed.
"... What?" I said starring at him.
"Its nothing. Just please think it through before you make rash decisions."
"You think I wouldn't? I mean seriously jeremy. This is my company. Do you really think I would just throw it away." I said standing.
"No I know you won't but I just want you to know that I will support you no matter what but I do not suggest merging with the Leventh company." He said handing me my glass.
" What's up with you all of the sudden?" I snapped
"Nothing."he sighed.
I took a sip of my whine and flipped down onto the couch.
"Look sorry. I didn't mean to snap. Its just all the sudden everything has been working out. The company. My job. My thoughts. I thought that everything is finally working I can finally relax and hand my job over and have the merger." I said as I pressed my index finger into my temple.
"Your right you need to relax. But I just want you to make sure to research and understand what you are stepping into. I understand your stressed and tired and that your ready to have more help. Just breath and make sure your making the right decision." Jeremy came to may side and placed his hands on my shoulders and squeezed them.
"Thank you" I said placing my hand on top of his.
"Anytime. Now how about take out and movie night?" He said changing the mood.
"Depends what kind of take out?" I said smiling.
"Thai?"
"You know me to well. I will pick the movie if you will call in the food." I said racing off to the movie shelf.
"Why do you get the easy stuff?" He said snickering at the sight of me running off.
"Because I'm paying!!" I shouted while surfing through the movie.
"Fare enough!" He shouted back.
It was the middle of the night before i passed out. When I woke up I found myself still on the couch but with and extra body there with me. I was initially I was shocked at the sight of a body under my own but once I realized it was Jeremy I calmed down but still got off of him and made my way into the shower.
The sound of the running was calming and peaceful. As I was waiting I turned on some music for some buffer noise.
