Part 1 ~ Rainy days

Cedric's POV

The classroom is filled with the teachers steady word flow, rain drumming on the roof tiles and occasional snoring. I'm actually kinda suprised that I wasn't the one to snore. I'm a good student but even I can't stand the history of coins. Yes, he collects coins and sees fit that we know everything about them.

I take my pen in my hand and ponder my options. I could poke Kayden's arm with the pen and get slapped or I could... No, I will poke him.

I reach my hand over the gap between our desks. I skillfully avoid the teachers evil glance and poke Kayden.

"Dude, I was sleeping" he grunts and glances in my direction. I laugh and point the clock on the wall.

"Didn't you sign up for showing the school to the new kids?" I ask and raise my eyebrows. He sighs and rests his head on his arms.

"Yeah, but I did it for free periods. They didn't mention that I worked on free periods" he groans and rubs his eyes.

After the bell rings I go my way and Kayden goes his way. I head towards the main doors like always but quickly remember the rain.

Disappointed I change my path to lead to the library. I like library because it's usually quiet. Sure, there are always some girls chatting and spreading the newest gossip about couples, jocks and basic highschool scandals.

I look around and see the computers and the lounge almost empty. There are three areas: the bookshelves and tables for reading, lounge with red comfy sofas and then there are the computers. There are couple of computers near the other parts but there is also a little group of computers secluded from the others.

The ones in the corner were free so I go to one of them. I turn the computer on and log in.

After a while I stumble upon a chat site. I create a profile and go to the main chat.

"Hi" I write and wait for an answer.

"Hi. Wanna chat?"

Text appears on the screen and I quickly click on the username, MattyBoy97. If the name is to be trusted, he is 18. He has hazel brown hair and brown eyes. I select private chat and start typing.

"Hi. I'm Cedric"

"Hi. I'm Matt"

"What's up?"

"Nothing much, you?"

"Just spending my free period at my school's library"

Time passed and soon my free period was over. We agreed to continue talking after school an I walk to my last class.

Kayden walks to my side looking annoyed.

"What happened to you?" I ask and adjust my beanie.

"I waited for that new kid but he never showed up. I waisted my whole free period for nothing" he mutters trough gritted teeth.

"Maybe something happened so he couldn't come" I say and my phone beeps. I look at it and see a whatsapp message from Jamie.

'Can you drive me to a party?'

'Which one?' I write and look at the clock. Still 30 minutes till the end of class.

'The one at Jackson's'

'Am I invited?'

'Everyone is'

'Well, okay'

'Thanks bro'

I sigh and look at the numbers in my book. I solve few of the equations and then shut my book. I can understand math but I don't like it.

At home I open my laptop and search the chat again. I log in and go into the chat.

"Hi. You there?"

"Well, you took your time"

"Sorry"

"Don't worry"

"My brother kept me away. He was arranging a plan for getting into a party"

"You're going into a party?"

"Yeah, but you can come too if you want"

"Where is it?"

"I'll text you the details"
