"But - but we don't even have rings!" Kurt knows it's a weak argument, but he's grasping at straws here.

Yesterday, he was quasi-dating a 50 year old man. One week ago, he was sure that he would never be with the love of his life again.

Six months ago, he was too young to get married. Things haven't changed that much, have they?

But then he looks at Blaine and sees the same man he fell in love with, but also a completely different man.

A man who could live in a world without Kurt Hummel, but didn't want to. A beautiful, strong, courageous man who wants him.

So he goes with the rings because he doesn't know what else to do.

"Actually," Blaine says shyly, "we kind of do."

Everyone turns to Blaine with identical looks of shock on their faces.

He slowly fidgets around his collar before pulling a long chain from around his neck. "I was never able to get rid of it after... y'know."

Kurt does know. He remembers all too vividly the day after the break-up.

Blaine had just come back to the loft from god-knows-where he had stayed the night, and Kurt had simply left it on the dresser before stalking out the door.

And Blaine had been wearing it next to his heart ever since.

The ring glints in the sunlight that's streaming in, and Kurt's breath catches. He reaches out to touch the ring, but stops at the last moment, afraid.

"You really kept it?"

"I wasn't ready to give up on us."

Kurt's hand finally moves the last inch and closes around the small band, still warm from Blaine's skin.

"Okay," he says. "I do."
