The road was a long and bumpy one, but Luke had already become accustomed to those kinds of roads. Sitting next to him was Zed. (Luke and Zed originally had some mixed feelings about each other. However, after seeing that they had a lot in common, they decided to talk. Eventually the two realized that they were to be good friends.) Zed sat there looking down at his gun, not saying a word.
"Everything alright Zed" Luke asked raising an eyebrow.
"Yeah I'm fine. Just a bit fearful I guess." Zed looked up from his gun.
"Remember what we always talk about?"
"No fear?"
"That's right. No fear. It's okay to be scared sometimes as long as you don't let it get in the way of what you're doing." Luke put a hand on Zed's shoulder to reassure him that everything would be alright.
"You know I always thought that it would be me who would be scared." Luke said with a slight chuckle.
"Well you aren't"  Zed glared at him.
Luke stopped smiling as his facial expression hardened.
"You're right. I'm sorry man. I'll admit, I'm a bit scared myself. I just wanted to seem like I wasn't, so you wouldn't be as scared."
"It's okay. I appreciate the effort. It means a lot. Trust me." Zed flashed Luke a quick grin-like smile. Luke nodded and smiled back. The two felt a sudden jerk as the humvee came to a sudden stop. Luke got out of the vehicle and looked to see what the reason for the stop was. Luke's hand shot down to the pistol at his side.
"Aw sh... Zed look at this"
Zed got out of the humvee and his eyes widened in terror.
