New York
"Hi cuz!" Adrianne greeted me with a squeal the moment the elevator door of my Manhattan penthouse opened to reveal her. I welcomed her with a hug.
"Hey lovely, how's the flight?"
"Oh it was great. I'm so excited to come here." She started walking over to the balcony which overlooked the city below dropping her bag on the couch. "Wow, I'm officially in love with this place. Can I just stay here for good?"
I head over to the mini bar just to the right of the balcony and poured myself a glass of wine. I'm starting to think this was a bad idea. I need to calm my nerves.
"That's good. Yeah, sure." I answered a bit distracted. "By the way, this is my friend Diaz, Diaz that's my cousin Adrianne." I introduces as Diaz emerged from the powder room coming to sit next to me and poured himself a glass of scotch.
"Are you planning on getting drunk tonight? I think it's too early for that and besides we have to go like now." Adrianne looking annoyed as she checked the time on her watch.
"Nice to meet you too, chika." Diaz answered sarcastically and rolled his eyes as he deliberately took a sip on his drink. He was not really in a good mood today. I heard Adrianne scoff obviously offended.
"Diaz, no bitch attitude please." I let out a frustrated sigh. I stood up from the stool I was seated as I hurriedly emptied my own glass. I grabbed my clutch and keys on the counter. "Adrianne's right we better get there soon or we'll be late." I started walking towards the elevator before I changed my mind and chicken out.
"Do I really need to come?" I heard Diaz whined but still followed me.
"I need you there." I said firmly and hurried inside the elevator before he could protest, Adrianne hot on my heels carrying her rather bulky backpack.
Diaz begrudgingly followed us in.

"Tell me again, why I agreed to this?" Diaz's brows are high up into his forehead glaring at me with his hands on his hips.
"Because you're my friend and I need your moral support." I shrugged feeling extremely guilty for dragging him here he had to cancel his date. I didn't want to go alone with Adrianne, I feel like I could only stay sane with Diaz around. At least I wouldn't look too out of place with him in tow. I heard him took a very deep breath as if he was trying to calm himself.
"Look I know you'd rather stay in bed with your boyfriend all night long but I really need you right now. You don't know how much I appreciate you coming with me tonight." I held his cheek and smiled up at him.
He, again, took a deep breath then squeezed my hand as if trying to find patience in me which he obviously just ran out of.
"You know I can't say no to you." He rolled his eyes and snorted. "But you're right I'd rather spend my night with Rafael. That guy's got stamina like that of a bull. He's insatiable. I swear!" He whispered in my ear so no one around especially kids can hear. I giggled insanely in spite of my nerves getting wrecked by the second. He was back to his old gay self which considerably loosen the tight knot in my stomach.
