Song: Holding On To You - Twenty One PilotsPicture:
I walked down the street, exploring all the places around me. By this time, it was 5:00AM and the sun was starting to come up. I gotta admit, it was beautiful. The last time I saw a sunrise was when I was 10 with my mom when we visited Hawaii together. Thats when everything was good, before everything went downhill. But thats a whole other story.
I sat myself down on a bench to watch the sunrise come up more, it was lovely. I put my earbuds in and flicked on Holding On To You, I don't know why but it made everything peaceful. For me at least. The sky was a mix of pink, yellow, and clouds glowing in the sky.
I looked around to see all the road workers setting up their shops, cleaning off the street, some people walking their dogs, cats, I even saw someone walk their bunny. Huh, didn't know that was a thing. Neat. I saw others get to work with a large coffee in their hand, phone in the other, wow. What zombies. Im glad I wasn't one of them.
I watched everyone pass by for a good thirty minutes, then I got a tap on my shoulder,
"Excuse... Um." A awkward voice said, god. its too early for this shit.
"What?" I say in a nasty tone, not sure why but I went for it. I turn to a younger man, he was short but lanky, a good lanky though. He wore a black hoodie, the hood was over his head. His eyes were a crystal blue, it was actually pretty cool in my opinion.
Something seemed wrong with him, like he was on the verge of dying, his face was shallow and thin, it sorta worried me.. With all my time on the streets, I've seen many people that looked like this, sick. But with him, it was different. I couldn't put my finger on it.
"You.. left this at your apartment." He handed me my key, damn. I must of dropped it. His hands were shaky, something was off about this guy.. I couldn't pin point him.. His eyes darted to the ground, not even looking me in the eye.
"How did you find this?" I ask,
"It was on the floor near your door. I guessed it was yours."
That was impossible. I know for a FACT I left it on the kitchen counter. I remember the whole thing.
"Oh. Than-" I go to say but he walks off, not even saying a word.
Theres always that one odd neighbor.
---ELLIOTS POV---
She looked up at me resulting in me slamming the door shut quickly. She was my newest neighbor, I had to know who she was. Once I knew she was gone, I opened the door, looking around to make sure no one else was around.
I grabbed my key picker and unlocked the door just for me. I went in and explored the place. The last time I was in here was when I asked Shayla out to dinner for my boss. She was gone and I accepted that. Well I'm trying.
I tried my best not to make the floors creak, I grabbed her backpack that was on the ground, I sat down indian style opening it up.
It held a laptop, some bras and underwear's that I threw to the side, all I was interested in was the laptop, thats where all her secrets were held, thats where I can put a name to this stranger and find more about her.
PASSWORD REQUIRED
"Shit." I mumbled to myself. This was usually easy for me but not knowing a single think about her, I couldn't guess her password. I closed the laptop shoving it back into her backpack, grabbing her clothes and stuffing them back in too. I stood up doing one more look around when I saw a key,
It was a little black key to something, I grabbed it and shoved it into the door, it was her door lock. Im sure she would need this.
But how would I explain I found it?
Hey, I just walked into your apartment, touched your bra and underwear and took this key, welcome to the building!!!
But where would she even be? Maybe I will just walk around the city for her, if I can't find her, then thats her fault, not mine.
I walked out locking the door behind me and setting out,
I walked down the long street looking up and down for her, nothing.. Hmm.. I can't believe I'm even doing this, but it was like some kind of urge in me NEEDED to find out who she was so I can know everything about her, her secrets, her life, everything. I had to know. Thats how I get to know people in a strange way,
Most people would say 'hello, I'm so and so, how are you?' or 'wanna come in for some coffee?' but then there was me, I was the one that would just dig and dig and dig into you over social media to find who you are and 'get to know you'. I found the bad in people, I didn't find the good.
I walked over to the little clearing to get myself a coffee knowing the day ahead of me with everyone, I had to meet them in 20 minutes so my time was limit.
I looked up to see... her. Damn. That was easy. A little too easy. Do you think she knew I was coming? Did you guys know about this? No, thats silly. You're my imaginary friend.
She was just.. Sitting there. Peacefully starring up at the sky, as if it was enjoyable.
She reminded me of Shayla, she enjoyed life. Theres one thing I know about her.
I walked over, I saw another thing, it was a stitching on her bag on her lap,
VIOLET ROSE
The stitching was worn out, it looked as if it was at least 10 years old.
I knew exactly who she was now. I was in. Nice to meet you, Violet.
